Una de las grandes cosas que nos trajo hace tiempoe Gnu/Linux es la posibilidad de tener un sistema operativo completo en un pendrive, esto aunque fue posible era una tarea ardua hasta que llegó Ubuntu. Ubuntu ofreció la posibilidad de realizar esta tarea pero con una herramienta gráfica.
Esto ha sido notablemente mejorada con Linux Mint, la cual hace tiempo lanzó Mintstick, un programa que te creaba las distribuciones que uno quiera en el usb que señalemos. Así, de una manera gráfica el usuario puede instalar varias distribuciones en un único pendrive. MintStick es mantenido por el propio Lefevre, el jefe de la distribución, por lo que la seguridad y el mantenimiento están asegurados. Además, MintStick está en github por lo que podremos instalar la herramienta en cualquier distribución basada en Debian, no sólo en Linux Mint sino en más distribuciones.
Este herramienta es útil a la hora de recuperar un sistema o de llevar tu propio sistema operativo en un pendrive para usar en cualquier equipo con seguridad dudosa.
El pequeño problema de MintStick es que a diferencia de otras herramientas, MintStick no ofrece persistencia, por lo que no podremos guardar nuestros datos en el usb. La persistencia hace que todo el especio libre del pendrive lo podamos usar como un disco duro para la distribución metida en el usb. Así una vez que terminemos la sesión podemos recuperar los datos guardados. Pero el que no ofrezca persistencia no es problema para los usuarios de Mintstick ya que lo podremos usar como una herramienta para crear discos de instalación en un pendrive e instalar cualquier distribucion Gnu/Linux en cualquier equipo que no admite discos o dvd’s por diversos problemas. Esta función en equipos antiguos sigue funcionando muy bien.

T-Mobile has today announced a new feature launching exclusively at T-Mobile based on a new messaging standard that will change the way you text. T-Mobile’s new Advanced Messaging is the future of the SMS.
Based on the Rich Communications Services (RCS) standard, Advanced Messaging brings a lot of the perks of other messaging services –iMessage, Hangouts, etc.– to normal text messages like near real-time chat, read receipts, high-res media sharing and greatly improved group messaging. Since Advanced messaging is built on RCS, eventually all carriers and all phones will support it. But for now, T-Mobile has the exclusive.
Advanced Messaging will be available on the Galaxy Grand Prime first, with the Galaxy S5 and S6 to follow. And T-Mobile has a dozen more devices with Advanced Messaging already in the pipeline.
It’s been a long time since we’ve seen any significant changes to text messaging. Leave it to T-Mobile to lead the charge. Here’s to hoping more carriers follow suit shortly.

If you happen to own Lenovo's S60 mid-ranger, here's some good news for you. The Chinese company has just started rolling out the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop for this particular device.
Although it was made official this year, the Lenovo S60 launched in March running Android 4.4 KitKat, many months after Google unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Now though Lenovo is rectifying that error by releasing this update. The new software version has so far been spotted in Greece.
The rollout is happening over-the-air, so it might take a while for it to reach all devices out there. Rest assured however that your handset will notify you when it's ready to install. The download is a hefty 1.32GB affair, so you should probably make sure you're connected to Wi-Fi before grabbing it. You aren't supposed to lose data during the update process, but it's always safest to create a backup beforehand.

Quedan un par de semanas para que el OnePlus 2 sea presentado de forma oficial. Aunque ya hemos escuchado rumores sobre sus posibles prestaciones, faltaba alguna confirmación. Y ahora que el OnePlus 2 ha pasado por el TENNA, ya podemos confirmar todas las características técnicas del nuevo caballo de batalla de la startup asiática.
Recordemos que el TENNA es el organismo de certificación chino por lo que la información que aparece en él es totalmente veraz. Y viendo las características técnicas del OnePlus 2, queda claro que será un terminal bastante potente.
Para empezar se confirma una pantalla de 5.5 pulgadas que alcanzará una resolución QHD con sus 534 ppp. Bajo el capó nos encontraremos con un potente procesador Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, esperemos que la versión mejorada y sin problemas de sobrecalentamiento.
Teniendo en cuenta que el nuevo flagship killer de OnePlus contará con 4 GB de memoria RAM LPDDR4, queda claro que será un teléfono móvil bastante potente. A esto hay que sumarle 32 GB de almacenamiento interno que se podrá ampliar a través de su ranura para tarjetas micro SD.
Destacar su soporte para dos tarjetas SIM, además de contar con una cámara principal de 13 megapíxeles con doble flash LED. Por último su batería de 3.300 mAh será la encargada de soportar todo el hardware de este potente dispositivo.
Una de las grandes novedades llega con el botón físico situado en la parte frontal del teléfono. Como podréis comprobar en las imágenes, guarda una gran similitud con el utilizado por Samsung en su gama Galaxy y seguramente integrará un lector de huellas dactilares.
El precio, confirmado en varias ocasiones por OnePlus, será de 450 euros. Viendo sus características técnicas queda claro que es un buen terminal y a un precio atractivo, pero muy lejos de los 299 euros que costaba el modelo original. Veremos si consigue alcanzar el éxito de su predecesor…
Por último, en cuanto a los rumores que hablaban de que podrían haber varias versiones, por ahora habrá que esperar un par de semanas a ver si finalmente durante la presentación muestras diferentes modelos con configuraciones de hardware diferentes.
