Linux Lite 3.4 ya está disponible para equipos con pocos recursos
Recientemente una de las distribuciones más ligeras del mundo Gnu/Linux ya está disponible para todos. Linux Lite, la distribución que se basa en Ubuntu LTS, ya tiene una nueva versión, para ser más concretos, Linux Lite 3.4.
Esta nueva versión de Linux Lite 3.4 tiene algunas novedades como la base de la distribución, la nueva herramienta de actualización o el nuevo rendimiento de la distribución para los usuarios frente a otras distribuciones ligeras.
Linux Lite 3.4 se basa en Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS, la última revisión de Ubuntu LTS. Esta versión es más estable y actualizada que otras versiones, cosa que hereda Linux Lite 3.4. El kernel 4.4 también está presente en Linux Lite 3.4 pero en esta distribución contamos con una herramienta que nos permite cambiar el kernel por cualquier otro, por una versión más antigua o por un kernel más moderno como el 4.10.

Otra novedad de Linux Lite 3.4 está en la app de bienvenida. Al igual que otras distribuciones, Linux Lite 3.4 tiene una app de bienvenida llamada Lite Welcome que ayuda y guía al usuario novato con el funcionamiento de la distribución.
A nivel técnico, Linux Lite 3.4 también tiene grandes cambios. El más significativo es la introducción de zRam en la distribución. Esto permite que la distribución gestione mejor aspectos como la hibernación, los procesos en segundo plano, etc… Dando como resultado una mayor velocidad de la distribución con los mismos recursos.
Linux Lite 3.4 se puede conseguir actualizando el sistema, si ya tenemos versiones antiguas de Linux Lite o bien descargando la imagen de instalación que podemos conseguir desde este enlace. Linux Lite 3.4 es una distribución ligera cada vez más popular entre los usuarios que necesitan este tipo de distribuciones. Algo que no es raro si tenemos en cuenta funciones como Lite Welcome o la inclusión de zRam. Ahora bien, tampoco es la única distribución ligera que se basa en Ubuntu.
