KDE Plasma 5.8.5 LTS llega a Kubuntu

Los usuarios de Kubuntu estáis de suerte, ya que ya se ha anunciado la inmediata disponibilidad de la última versión de KDE Plasma en Ubuntu, en concreto la versión 5.8.5 LTS de este famoso escritorio, el cual ya está disponible dentro de los repositorios de Kubuntu(Ubuntu con KDE), tanto en su versión 16.04 LTS, como en su versión 16.10.

Este escritorio no es nada nuevo, ya que ha llegado el mes pasado , sin embargo, había que hacer alguna prueba para poder comprobar si este escritorio estaba listo para estas últimas versiones de Kubuntu, es decir, para poder funcionar de una forma estable.

Desde que salió la primera versión de este escritorio el mes pasado, se han ido corrigiendo todos los bugs que se habían descubierto previamente. Además de eso, se había logrado tambíen traducir a muchos idiomas, gracias al gran trabajo realizado por el equipo de traducción de este sistema operativo.

Este escritorio está disponible también para la última versión de Linux Mint con KDE, el cual es un sistema operativo que como sabrás está basado en Ubuntu. Así que si tienes una de las dos versiones de Ubuntu ya mencionadas o la última de Linux Mint KDE, vas a poder actualizar tu KDE Plasma a esta última versión.

Para poder hacerlo, normalmente debería bastar con los típicos comandos de Sudo apt-get update y sudo apt-dist upgrade, los cuales además van a actualizarte las KDE Apps a la última versión y el KDE Flameworks.

Sin embargo, si no encuentra el archivo o te da algún error, deberás añadir el repositorio correspondiente, el cual se añade poniendo en la consola la siguiente línea de comandos:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Este comando se debe poner antes del sudo apt-get update si tal que no funciona, ya que añadirá el repositorio que le falta al sistema operativo.
