Apple borra de su market cap casi lo doble de su ganancia trimestral
Tras los decepcionantes resultados correspondientes a su año fiscal 2016, las acciones de Apple llegaron a caer hasta 2.70% luego del cierre de la bolsa, significando una reducción de cerca de 17,200 millones de dólares en su capitalización de mercado. Esto luego de que la firma reportara su primera caída de ventas anuales desde 2001.
El descalabro en su market cap representa casi el doble de sus ganancias netas correspondientes al trimestre de julio a septiembre donde reportó 9,000 millones de dólares.
Los títulos de la tecnológica dirigida por Tim Cook cerraron el martes a un precio de 118.25 dólares. Luego de que informara su primera caída en sus ventas anuales en 15 años, los papeles de Apple se comercializaban hasta en 115.20 dólares.
La firma reportó ventas en los 12 meses que corresponden a su año fiscal 2016 por 215,639 millones de dólares, en comparación con los 233,715 millones de dólares del 2015. Su utilidad neta pasó de los 53,394 millones de dólares registrados en su año fiscal 2015 a 45,687 millones de dólares en 2016.
En una llamada con inversionistas y cuestionado sobre si la empresa tiene una mayor estrategia, Cook detalló que tienen importantes objetivos que siempre han tenido.
“Realmente estamos seguros acerca de los objetivos. Tenemos un fuerte presentimiento hacia donde vamos”, dijo el CEO del fabricante del iPhone.
