Something I noticed: Not a single picture on the new Minecraft website is actually from the game. via /r/Minecraft

Something I noticed: Not a single picture on the new Minecraft website is actually from the game.

For some reason, this really bugs me. All of the promotional art and pictures used on the new minecraft.net website are artistic renditions of Minecraft. Nowhere on the site is there a single picture or screenshot from the game itself. It's borderline false advertizing, and it's everywhere. Even the prepaid cards look like this! It's almost as if they're ashamed of how the game actually looks. Is anyone else bugged by this?

EDIT: Let's not forget the recently announced Xbox One S Minecraft Bundle.

Don’t Fall for Musk’s Merger Smoke And Mirrors

Private investors have gone wild in response to a rocket explosion that rocked Florida and destroyed a $62-million-dollar project and a $195 million dollar Facebook satellite. SolarCity Corp. and Tesla Motors stocks have plummeted several points in response to the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket explosion. But why is this? After all, SpaceX, Tesla, and SolarCity — although all associated with Elon Musk — are three distinct companies with distinct businesses, right?

Why It Took Taiwan So Long To Get Approved For An Apple Store

It’s one of those unofficial but everyone just pretty much knows anyway things: Apple will open its first offline store in Taiwan. The Silicon Valley icon already runs 36 stores in China and five in Hong Kong. Different from independent vendors of Apple gear, the official stores are airy, two-floor affairs crawling with staffers who help users understand how each device works, be that a Mac, iPad or iPhone. Staff people are supposed to be so good that some stores offer a “Genius Bar” or “Genius Grove” where would-be customers can sit with the employees and siphon off their knowledge. You can sit for a drink in some stores or attend their training sessions.
