Esta puede ser de las últimas veces que veamos funcionando a OpenOffice, ya que algunos responsables del proyecto quieren cerrarlo definitivamente porque no tienen usuarios y porque no se pueden resolver las vulnerabilidades.
Hoy se ha anunciado que la compañía Apache quizás ponga fin a OpenOffice, una suite de ofimática que en su día fue muy popular, pero que hoy en día ya parece que muy poca gente usa.
La razón del posible fin de OpenOffice al parecer es porque no se han conseguido resolver vulnerabilidades de seguridad del programa. Algunas personas del proyecto Apache, como por ejemplo Dennis Hamilton, creen que es mejor dejar de ofrecer soporte a su suite de ofimática y centrarse en otros proyectos.
Sin embargo, algunas personas del proyecto OpenOffice no están de acuerdo con esto y quieren relanzar la marca OpenOffice, con una nueva campaña de marketing y contratando nuevos desarrolladores que se encarguen de corregir estas vulnerabilidades y hacer el producto competitivo.
De cerrarse definitivamente el proyecto, quedarían ciertas cosas sin resolver, como por ejemplo la marca registrada OpenOffice, su wiki oficial y su código. Sin duda OpenOffice dejaría un gran legado, un legado que parece que ya forma parte del pasado.
En mi opinión, creo que la verdadera razón de que quieran cerrar OpenOffice para siempre es que otras suite de ofimática como LibreOffice se han comido literalmente al proyecto de Apache, consiguiendo muchos más usuarios y un mejor soporte y funcionamiento.
Sin embargo, todavía hay personas que usan esta suite de ofimática, especialmente los que la instalaron cuando era popular y han decidido continuar con ella. Esta gente se quedaría sin soporte y tendrían que cambiarse a LibreOffice o instalar Microsoft Office a través de Wine.
¿Morirá OpenOffice definitvamente?, esto es algo que sólo el tiempo dirá, ya que aún no se ha tomado una decisión oficial al respecto, sin embargo, la cosa pinta mal para la suite de Apache.

I Made a Resource Pack That Reduces Item Frame Lag
As some may know, Item Frames use five Elements in their model;
Four for the wooden frame, and one for the leather background.
Well, I edited the model file they use to only have one Element;
One for the Leather and the Wood, combined.
Since they're all on the same level, the wooden frame is no longer poking out. This results in a slight change in how Item Frames look:

As you can see, it's just a change that isn't very noticeable.
I have observed the framerate going up whilst using this resource pack in an Item Frame-heavy area.
