Kdenlive 16.08.0 añade renderizado en tiempo real y edición de 3 puntos.

Entre las cada vez mejores herramientas de edición de vídeo en GNU/Linux, hay varias que destacan y una de ellas sin duda es Kdenlive, que en los últimos tiempos ha lanzado actualizaciones cada vez más completas y con características más potentes. Ahora llega Kdenlive 16.08.0, una versión que trae la muy importante funcionalidad de edición de tres puntos, que permite a los usuarios crear eventos en la línea del tiempo y añadir un tercer punto en el que puede añadirse un nuevo elemento o bien que puede servir como referencia, y que en la práctica ayuda a agilizar muchísimo el trabajo de edición.

Es que gracias a esta característica se pueden añadir elementos de audio o vídeo a una línea del tiempo y hacer que los ya existentes en la misma se acomoden para que este tenga lugar en memoria. Pero no es la única novedad de importancia, ya que también llega la posibilidad de añadir efectos de renderizado en el timeline, algo que nos permite añadir una cuota de efectos y transiciones en tiempo real, los cuales además son modificados en segundo plano para permitirnos seguir trabajando en la edición.

Pero además, Kdenlive 16.08.0 es una versión que mejora mucho la estabilidad, algo esencial en herramientas de este tipo ya que a veces al trabajar y utilizar tantos recursos del sistema estas pueden mostrar algunos problemas en este sentido. Sin embargo, con esta actualización se corrigen más de 370 bugs y se añadieron varias mejoras en herramientas como la de gestión de títulos, el mezclado de audio y el wizard para la creación de DVD. Y como todo lo visual siempre tiene relevancia, más aún en aplicaciones de este tipo, hay nuevos íconos en el timeline, un nuevo logo para la aplicación, y un nuevo cambiador de previsualizaciones de alta definición.

Microsoft Monday: Windows 10 Update Causing Serious Problems, Get Paid To Use Edge, Genee Acquired

Windows 10 Anniversary Update Is Reinstalling Apps That Were Removed
Windows 10 updates have been consistently causing problems in terms of handling software applications. For example: When the Windows 10 November Update rolled out, some applications were removed from user computers without authorization. Now the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is reinstalling bundled apps that were uninstalled previously, according to BetaNews.
This may not be a major inconvenience because the app removal process is fairly simple. But this issue can be upsetting for users that have been actively reducing clutter from their PCs. You can uninstall an app by right-clicking on it from the Start menu and hitting “uninstall.”
Unfortunately, this is not the only problem that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update has been causing:
Windows 10 Anniversary Update Is Breaking Millions Of Web Cameras
Over the weekend, Forbes contributor Gordon Kelly reported via Thurrott that the Windows 10 Anniversary Update is breaking millions of web cameras. This bug has affected a wide variety of web cameras. And many Skype users pointed out that their web cameras are freezing up during use as well.
In a Microsoft support forum, there were representatives from many companies that discussed the implications of the web camera bug: “After spending days finding a solution we also stuck with the Anniversary update. Thousands of our customers can’t use our product now to process their payments by e-banking! We and especially our customers – which are your customers too – are really reliant on MJPEG!!” said a user in the forum.
The Anniversary Update essentially caused the support for webcams connected through USB — which uses the MJPEG or H.264 encode streams — to stop working. In the support forum, Microsoft admitted to the problem and said a fix is being worked on.
So what caused this problem? Here is what Mike M of the Windows Camera Team said in the forum:
“One of the main reasons that Windows is decoding MJPEG for your applications is because of performance. With the Anniversary Update to Windows 10, it is now possible for multiple applications to access the camera in ways that weren’t possible before. It was important for us to enable concurrent camera access, so Windows Hello, Microsoft Hololens and other products and features could reliably assume that the camera would be available at any given time, regardless of what other applications may be accessing it. One of the reasons this led to the MJPEG decoding is because we wanted to prevent multiple applications from decoding the same stream at the same time, which would be a duplicated effort and thus an unnecessary performance hit. This can be even more noticeable or perhaps trigger error cases on in-market devices with a hardware decoder which may be limited on how many decodes can take place simultaneously. We wanted to prevent applications from unknowingly degrading the user experience due to a platform change.”
The fix for the problem is expected to arrive in September. Fortunately Rafael Rivera found a workaround until then:

Microsoft busca fortalecerse en inteligencia artificial y Apple, en salud

El gigante informático estadounidense Microsoft anunció el lunes la compra de una firma que le permitirá reforzarse en inteligencia artificial, y su rival Apple adquirió una empresa especializada en salud.

Microsoft dijo en su sitio web que adquirió Geneel, una firma creada en 2014 y que concibió un asistente con inteligencia virtual para concertar citas.

El usuario se limita a mandar un correo, con copia a Genee, a la persona que quiere encontrar, dijo Microsoft.

"Genee entiende que (el usuario) 'quiere encontrar un momento para tomar un café con Diana la semana que viene' y simplifica el procedimiento enviando directamente correos con opciones compatibles con su agenda y sus preferencias", dijo Microsoft.

Tras la adquisición, el servicio existente de Genee cerrará en septiembre y su equipo se unirá a Microsoft para dotar de más inteligencia artificial a los servicios de productividad vinculados a Office 365.

Apple, de su lado, confirmó informes de prensa que circulan desde comienzos de año sobre la compra de la empresa Gliimpse.

"Apple compra pequeñas empresas tecnológicas de vez en cuando y generalmente no exponemos nuestros objetivos ni planos", dijo a la AFP un portavoz de Apple.

Gliimpse ofrece una plataforma única que permite a compilar datos médicos y de salud de diferentes fuentes y compartirlos con terceros; especialmente médicos.
