Cómo tener Pokémon Go Map en nuestro Gnu/Linux

Pokémon Go ha revivido la pokemanía que nació hace unos cuántos años en el mundo de las videoconsolas. Hasta el punto que todo el mundo sale por la calle para cazar pokémons, pero esta tarea a veces es cansada y sin fruto alguno pues no tenemos ningún pokéradar ni ningún mapa donde nos indique los pokémons que están en activo.

No hay hasta ahora. Un usuario ha aprovechado un exploit que tiene el videojuego para crear un programa llamado Pokémon Go Map que nos será de gran utilidad para nuestra caza pokémon y además lo podremos tener en nuestro Gnu/Linux de manera gratuita y fácil.

Antes de poder instalar Pokémon Go Map en nuestro Gnu/Linux necesitamos tener instalados las librerías suficientes para para que el programa funcione. Así, abrimos una terminal y escribimos lo siguiente:

sudo apt-get install python python-pip

Hemos de tener la versión 2.7 de Python, por lo que si en nuestros repositorios tenemos una versión antigua, tendremos que obtener la versión mediante las fuentes.

Una vez que hemos cumplido con los requisitos, hemos de descargarnos el programa del repositorio Github. Esto lo hacemos a través del siguiente comando:

git clone http://ift.tt/2awbkTG

Luego nos introducimos en la carpeta descargada y ejecutamos el script de instalación:

cd /PokemonGo-Map
pip install -r requirements.txt

Una vez que hemos hecho esto, ahora podemos loguearnos con nuestra cuenta de Pokémon Go y ver en Google Maps donde están apareciendo los pokémon más populares, o saber qué gimnasios hay cerca de nosotros o en una determinada ciudad.

Para ello, si tenemos una cuenta del Club Pokémon, hemos de loguearnos así:

python runserver.py -u [nombre de usuario] -p [contraseña] -st 10 -k [Google Maps API key] -l "[ubicación]"

SI por el contrario, usamos una cuenta de Google, hemos de hacer lo siguiente para loguearnos:

python runserver.py -a google -u [nombre de usuario] -p [contraseña] -st 10 -k [Google Maps API key] -l "[Ubicación]"

En cualquier caso, en Ubicación hemos de poner la ubicación nuestra o la que queramos consultar. Tras hacer esto, para ver el mapa con los pokémon, hemos de ir a nuestro navegador y consultar la siguiente dirección:

http://localhost:5000/

En esta web encontraremos el programa Pokémon Go Map funcionando e indicando la información que le hemos pedido. Cómo veis es un sencillo rápido y simple para localizar Pokémon y no tener que ir durante horas por la calle buscando Pokémons ¿útil, no creéis?

Apple’s Chinese Woes Extend Beyond Regulatory And Macro Headwinds

Apple published its fiscal Q3 earnings on Tuesday, reporting that revenues fell by 15% year-over-year to about $42.4 billion amid shipment declines across its major product lines, while gross margins also contracted by 170 basis points to 38%, on account of a growing mix of low-end iPhone sales and FX impacts.  Although the results were better than expected, the company’s performance in Greater China – a region that has been the biggest source of growth in recent years – was concerning. Revenues from the market (which includes Mainland China, Hong Kong and China) declined by about 33% year over year to roughly $8.8 billion, accounting for about 60% of Apple’s overall revenue decline for the quarter. While the decline was partly due to a tough comparison with Q3 FY’15 and the regulatory and economic headwinds Apple faces in China, it could also be reflective of a more competitive and dynamic smartphone market.

Twitter’s Stock Tumbles On Lackluster Q2 Results, Weak Q3 Guidance

Twitter reported mixed second quarter results on Tuesday, July 26. The company’s total revenue increased 20% year-over-year to $602 million on the back of 18% growth in advertising revenue and 35% growth in its data licensing business. It posted adjusted earnings of 13 cents per share, which was 3 cents higher than the analyst consensus estimate for this quarter.

Faking Extroversion: Professional Conferences

I’m getting ready for one of my favorite events of the year: the annual BlogHer Conference. Not only do I love BlogHer and the amazing women behind it, the event is one of the biggest annual moments for my business. I bring clients to it, I speak on panels; for three days I pretend I am the world’s biggest extrovert. And every year, I feel dread and panic along with excitement, because the sheer act of walking into a room full of other people makes me want to hide. I feel 13 again, and that is not a good feeling. I’m an introvert, a hermit, and I have social anxiety.
