iOS 9.3 most stable release from Apple, more stable than Android 6.0

According to a new report by app analytics firm Apteligent, Apple’s latest iOS 9.3 build is the most stable new release by the Cupertino-based company in years. The report revealed a 2.2% crash rate for iOS 9.3 in the past eight days.

Other major releases, including iOS 8, 9, and 9.2, had their crash rate cross the 3.2% mark in the same time-period. In addition, the report revealed that iOS 9.3’s rate of crash was also better than that of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which saw a crash rate of 2.6%.

Google introduce VR View para que sea más fácil traer la realidad virtual a apps y web

La realidad virtual es una de las protagonistas de este año en la que son varias compañías las que están apostando fuerte por traer nuevas experiencias a los usuarios en las que principalmente se sumerjan literalmente en un mundo virtual. Soluciones como HTC Vive o la propia de Samsung con Gear VR, son algunas de las que más relevancia están tomando más alguna más que ha de llegar en este año 2016.

Estas nuevas experiencias también serán más fáciles de implementar en apps y la web gracias al nuevo sistema open source de Google llamado VR View. Este sistema permitirá incluir fotos y vídeos 360 grados en páginas web y apps tanto en Android como en iOS. VR View es un nuevo sistema open source que permitirá a los desarrolladores estar al día con la realidad virtual en una variedad de situaciones.

Las principales diferencias para que este VR View destaque sobre las propias experiencias de Google con Photospheres o los vídeos 360 de YouTube, son ser una opción open source, con todo lo que conlleva, la facilidad para utilizar código, soporte a Google Cardboard y los similares visores VR de forma nativa.

VR View, en definitiva, permitirá que, al pulsar sobre el icono del dispositivo de VR en una imagen o vídeo adaptada, divida la vista en una dual perfecta para la reproducción dle contenido de realidad virtual y el usuario pueda disfrutar apropiadamente de ella.

Aunque el usuario necesite el dispositivo apropiado, como puede ser una Google Cardboard, es una pieza más del puzle que se necesita para impulsar la realidad virtual en aquellas apps y soluciones web que les interese ofrecer realidad virtual a los usuarios.

Si eres un desarrollador, puedes tomar el código necesario para introducir VR View en las apps desde la última versión de Android e iOS del SDK para Cardboard. Las imágenes y vídeos pueden ser implementados en sitios web al usar códigos estándar iframe.

Google Calculator arrives on Play Store with support for Android Wear

After apps like Calendar, Camera, and Keyboard. another core Google app has hit the company’s Play Store: Google Calculator. Yes, the Calculator app is now available for download from Google’s marketplace, meaning now it can be installed on any Android phone.

The app listed on Google Play carries a version number of 6.0, compared to Calculator 5.2 that shipped with latest Android. So, what’s new? While the design remains more or less the same, the updated app includes support for Android Wear.

Two Lenovo phones with same specs spotted on GFXBench

A couple of new Lenovo-branded smartphones have been spotted on GFXBench, and curiously, both have same specs. They are powered by MediaTek MT6735P SoC and sport a 5-inch HD display.

RAM is 2GB, while internal memory is 16GB. The camera department is handled by an 8MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter. Both come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed.

While nothing else is currently known about the devices, their model numbers – XT1700 and XT1706 – does indicate (XT followed by four numbers) that they are actually Motorola handsets, with reports suggesting we could be looking at…
