New 9.7-inch iPad Pro comes with underclocked A9X chipset

Yesterday Apple took the wraps off the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and during the announcement it said the tablet sports the same A9X chipset as the 12.9-inch iPad Pro launched last year.

However, in the meantime a pretty big caveat has emerged for this information. See, while the two tablets do share the SoC, the A9X in the smaller 9.7″ model comes with both an underclocked CPU and an underclocked GPU compared to the iPad Pro 12.9.

Google Photos now shows you automatically created albums after an event or trip

Google’s Photos service keeps receiving update after update. The latest one is rolling out starting today on the website as well as through its Android and iOS apps.

It’s all about smart album creation, this one. After an event or trip, Google Photos will show you an automatically created album of photos and videos you took. This is curated, containing just your best shots. It will also tell you how far you traveled, and place location pins on a map for you to remember where you’ve been.

Once you’ve received the album, you can add text captions to it, as well as turn on…

Chromecast cambia su nombre por Google Cast, ¿quieres conocer por qué?

Google lleva muchos años trabajando para adentrarse por completo en nuestra rutina diaria, no sólo logrando que los smartphones que utilizamos lo hagan bajo su sistema operativo, sino también haciéndonos llegar otras tecnologías que nos sean de utilidad. Algunas de ellas son como las de Chromecast, un accesorio perfecto para colocar en nuestro televisor y poder hacer así streaming desde el dispositivo móvil hasta la pantalla del salón.

Lo mismo han hecho con Chromecast Audio, siendo otro de los ejemplos de sus eternos intentos por invadir, con nuestro permiso, un pequeño espacio del hogar. Precisamente parece que la aplicación que hace funcionar a estos accesorios cambia de nombre, y mucho tiene que ver la última actualización que en estos momentos está sufriendo la utilidad para dispositivos móviles.

El hecho de que Google haya decidido cambiar el nombre de la app para Chromecast es por el hecho de que la tecnología Google Cast no sólo existe para este accesorio, sino que ya es existente en varios de los productos que vende Google para acoplar en las pantallas, altavoces o reproductores de música. De esta forma, la herramienta pasará a llamarse directamente Google Cast, haciendo referencia al gran número de productos con los que puede trabajar.

No es precisamente una casualidad que los chicos de Mountain View se hayan interesado ahora por hacer lo cambios, sino que se han esperado hasta el momento de presentar las primeras televisiones que llegan con Google Cast y con las que se podrán utilizar dispositivos móviles como mando, siendo un ejemplo de ello la tablet de 6 pulgadas que aparece en el vídeo. El nombre de este nuevo televisor es Vizio SmartCast P-Series, información que hemos encontrado en Android Authority.

Por lo visto, a partir de ahora podrán lanzarse televisores compatibles con Google Cast sin la necesidad de incorporar Android TV, haciendo mucho más rápido el uso de la pantalla grande con lo que le mandemos desde nuestro dispositivo móvil. ¿Qué os parecen todos estos movimientos por parte de Google?
