Microsoft Research is developing a new technology called “holoportation,” that allows users to beam holograms of themselves to another user’s VR headset. The effect looks almost better than “Star Wars.”

While we already knew that the HTC 10 will be unveiled on April 12, thanks to a new leak, we now also have some idea on when the phone will go on sale. The rumor says the device will be released on April 15 in HTC’s home country of Taiwan.
There’s currently no official confirmation on if and when the handset will land in the United States, although the usually reliable tipster @evleaks had said last month that the US launch is set for the second week of May.

Google I/O es uno de los eventos tecnológicos más importantes en el mundo. Si bien no es tan accesible para todos los públicos como el CES Las Vegas o el Mobile World Congress, este evento agrupa todo tipo de desarrolladores y programadores para discutir acerca las aplicaciones web de Google y las tecnologías que nos proporciona Internet.
Aunque los temas principales del evento suelen ser variados, están especialmente centrados alrededor de productos y tecnologías de Google, lenguajes de programación y todo tipo de innovación relativa a la tecnología. De hecho, el gigante de Internet suele liberar la beta de la próxima versión de Android durante este congreso, aunque como ya hemos visto, este año se ha adelantado.
Si en el sorteo de este año no conseguiste una entrada para acudir al Google I/O 2016, todavía tienes la oportunidad de ser invitado por la propia Google. Las condiciones son simples: debes crear un proyecto en Android Experiment que resulte útil y llame la atención por su originalidad. Una vez hecho esto tendrás que subir tu proyecto a la página del concurso, la cual no se encuentra activa por el momento.
Si hacemos memoria, Android Experiments fue inaugurado el pasado verano. Esta plataforma se presentó como un medio a través del cual podemos mostrar todo tipo de proyectos en Android para smartphones, tablets y smartwatches. En esencia, se trata de un portal por el que canalizar la originalidad y creatividad de desarrolladores que quieren darse a conocer.
Hasta la fecha, hemos visto una cantidad inmensa de proyectos muy prometedores desarrollados por la comunidad de programadores. Entre otros, han surgido increíbles ideas como watch faces, live wallpapers o aplicaciones innovadoras. Ésto ha dado una oportunidad de oro a personas con un interés innato en el desarrollo de aplicaciones que, quizás no disponían de medios suficientes como para darse a conocer.
Para potenciar el uso de la plataforma, hasta el 13 de abril se podrá enviar tu experimento al concurso. Los premios son bastante como para ponerse a trabajar, y es que los tres primeros ganadores recibirán la oportunidad de viajar y acudir al Google I/O 2016. Por debajo de estos, los otros cinco finalistas recibirán el terminal estrella de Google, el Nexus 6P. Para echar una mano, el gigante de Internet propone los siguientes consejos:

Proyectos que investiguen cómo interactuamos con nuestros dispositivos, de cualquier tipo de manera

Recuerda que la fecha límite para participar en el concurso es el 13 de abril, por lo que todavía tienes algo de tiempo para planear tu posible futuro proyecto.

We don’t know for sure if A 4K PS4 is happening, but chatter out of GDC verified by both Kotaku and Eurogamer would seem to point to a strong possibility. The PS4.5, as people are calling it, would be a rare mid-generation hardware upgrade that could potentially run the risk of splitting Sony’s console market, but would come with some ever-so valuable graphical horsepower. It’s a gamble however you look at it, even though there are some obvious upsides. It all begs the question: why?

Verizon has started rolling out the latest Android security update to the LG G3 and G4 smartphones on its network. Aside from bumping the Android security patch level to March 1, the update also “provides faster display response from a sleep state.”
As the update – which arrives as software version VS98625A for the G4 and VS98547A for the G3 – is currently rolling out, it may take some time before it hits your device. However, if you’re feeling impatient, you can manually check for the update by heading to your handset’s Settings menu.
