The Science Of Earth’s Airglow

What is Airglow? Yep, let’s start right there. It is something many people probably are not aware of at all. In fact, I first learned of it only 20 years ago as a scientist for NASA. I was inspired to feature it after seeing this amazing view of Earth posted on Facebook by a colleague. Before I discuss the image, let’s define airglow.

Lenovo K3 Note gets the Marshmallow update

The Lenovo K3 Note is getting the Android Marshmallow. Customers in India can now check their phone to download the OTA update.

Back in January, Anuj Sharma, Lenovo Product Manager for smartphones in India, teased an image of the phone running a test build of the new OS. Since then there hasn’t been any word from him or Lenovo on the status of the update, until today when users started getting the update.

The build number is K50a40_S121_150813_ROW_TO_K50a40_S322_160314_ROW and the size is 1657MB. Check if the update is available for download on your device.

Disney Magic Kingdoms, crea tu propio parque de atracciones de Disney

¿Habéis visitado en alguna ocasión Disneyland? Es probable que si no lo habéis visitado nunca, os hayáis quedado con las ganas de vivir este tipo de experiencia en el gigantesco parque temático de Disney. Hablando precisamente de este lugar, parece que desde hoy mismo tendréis la posibilidad de disfrutarlo, aunque de un modo bastante diferente.

Gameloft, la conocida firma creadora de varios de los videojuegos más famosos para smartphones, se ha aliado con Disney para ofrecernos una divertida experiencia, que no es básicamente otra que la de un juego en el que podréis crearos vuestro propio parque de atracciones. Este parque estará basado evidentemente en toda la temática de Disney.

En Disney Magic Kingdoms también encontraremos historia

El juego no viene completamente pelado, como podríamos imaginar de un título cuya finalidad es construir atracciones y administrar el propio parque. En Disney Magic Kingdoms nos encontraremos con que la malvada maléfica ha lanzado un hechizo sobre el parque, acabando por lo tanto con toda su magia. Durante el juego, podremos ayudar a míticos personajes como Mickey o Donald a luchar contra los villanos más conocidos, siempre mientras creamos poco a poco nuestro propio parque temático.

En Disney Magic Kingdoms nos encontraremos con las atracciones reales que veríamos si fuéramos a los parques de la famosa compañía. Todas ellas están inspiradas en las películas de Disney, encontrándonos con los personajes más emblemáticos de las mismas. Para continuar con la historia, será necesario que obtengáis magias y gemas que se os darán tras cada misión.

Desde Hoyentec nos explican que podréis expandir las zonas del parque según avancéis en vuestra aventura, para crear más construcciones y encontraros con nuevos personajes. El juego lo tenéis disponible de forma gratuita en Google Play, aunque posee tienda para comprar con dinero real, algo que no necesitaréis hacer de forma obligatoria.

Lenovo Adds Yet Another Software Partner, This Time SAP

As Lenovo and IBM’s x86-based server business came together in 2014, Lenovo was very clear that they would heavily partner for software solutions and engineered systems. In January, Lenovo announced a new, multifaceted partnership with German enterprise software company SAP on the heels of announcements with Nutanix and Red Hat. The overall goal of the SAP partnership, per Lenovo, is to strengthen joint execution and enable customers to hop on board the “growing digital economy” based on trends such as mobility, security, big data, hyper-connectivity and, of course, the cloud. Makes sense. Before the deal, Lenovo was a tech partner of SAP, but that was limited to HANA and they did nothing internally together. This new, strengthened alliance is a good move for Lenovo, and I believe it will also probably benefit SAP, particularly in China.

How Has Cree’s Revenue Mix Changed Over The Last 5 years?

Cree’s mix of businesses has changed substantially over the past five years. For decades,  the company has leveraged its expertise in silicon carbide technologies to manufacture Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), focusing in particular on high power, high-performance devices. It has also used these technologies to manufacture special purpose Power and RF (i.e., radio frequency) devices. It has recently branded this separate business and plans to issue a tranche of its shares to the public in the near future.

Lenovo Vibe K4 Note review: Phabulous

Last year the K3 Note launched as a “big features, small price” phone and now the Lenovo Vibe K4 Note continues the legacy. It has impressive stereo speakers, a sturdy metal frame and a fingerprint features. It’s the kind of spec sheet we see from a premium mid-ranger, except this one stays under the $200 mark.
