4″ iPhone to be called iPhone SE, to come with 16GB storage

You’ve seen Apple’s upcoming 4″ iPhone labeled as either 5se or just “SE,” but an alleged photo of its retail box suggests the Apple-preferred name is “iPhone SE” (yes, with capital letters, despite going lower case with the iPhone 5s).

The box is also marked 16GB, suggesting that this remains the base storage option. Better than the 8GB iPhone 5c, we guess, and supposedly there will be a 64GB option (again, no 32GB middle ground).

WhatsApp now offers text formatting, can send Google Drive docs

WhatsApp has always tried to stay ahead of the curve in a lot of ways, but, with an impressively busy beta release schedule, it is often hard to keep track of every novelty and how it found its place inside the app. The following batch of features can be found in version 2.12.535 of the app and appear to be new.

Yesterday’s iPhone 7 closeup photo is actually of the upcoming Meizu Pro 6

Yesterday a set of leaked photos surfaced online and they claimed to show the upcoming iPhone 7 and its new antenna design. Today, in an odd twist of events, Li Nan, Vice President of Chinese manufacturer Meizu, made a clarification that the device featured in yesterday’s close-up shot is actually the Meizu Pro 6.

Hangouts ya permite videollamadas de hasta 25 usuarios de Google Apps

Google Hangouts es el servicio de mensajería de Google y por lo tanto el gestor de mensajes por defecto en Android. Hangouts puede funcionar como aplicación de mensajería de mensajes SMS o como servicio de mensajería instantánea con otros usuarios de Google, y se encuentra de manera gratuita para todas las versiones de Android en la Play Store.

Hangouts por lo tanto compite contra muchos otros servicios de mensajería e integra características exclusivas como las videollamadas, las cuales tienen una gran importancia dentro de Hangouts. A partir de hoy, estas videollamadas evolucionan al siguiente nivel: 25 personas en una misma llamada.

En efecto, tal y como leemos en su blog oficial, Google Hangouts ha incrementado su número de usuarios en una videollamada de 15 hasta 25 personas, permitiendo así conectar con nuestra gente de manera más fácil y cómoda.

Esta actualización de momento tan solo está disponible para aquellos usuarios con una cuenta Google Apps y no una cuenta convencional @gmail.com. Una cuenta Google Apps es aquella pensada para usuarios de una empresa, de una entidad educativa o de un gobierno, ya que ofrece un correo electrónico profesional con almacenamiento online, calendarios compartidos, y por supuesto, videoconferencias.

Así pues, a partir de hoy, los empleados de una empresa o derivados se podrán reunir en videollamadas grupales de hasta 25 personas, un número mucho más adecuado para reuniones multitudinarias que el anterior máximo de 15 usuarios.

En cuanto se realicen estas videollamadas masivas, únicamente podremos observar en nuestra pantalla las 10 personas más activas en la llamada, para garantizar el buen rendimiento y calidad de la videollamada. Si no, estaríamos viendo hasta 25 cámaras distintas a la vez, por lo que se ha limitado el número hasta diez cámaras en pantalla.

De momento, esta ampliación tan solo está disponible en ordenadores, pero se prevé que pronto se adaptará para tablets y por supuesto smartphones Android. También se espera la expansión hacia todos los tipos de cuenta, para que los usuarios convencionales, con una cuenta de Google normal, también puedan realizar estas multitudinarias videollamadas.

The Far Reaching Implications Of Crytek’s VR First Initiative And AMD Partnership

Many announcements from game publishers, developers and hardware partners have come out Game Developer’s Conference (GDC) 2016 in San Francisco this week. One of the biggest that got less attention than it deserved was the growth of Crytek’s VR First initiative and their partnership with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Both AMD and Crytek have been pioneers in virtual reality (VR), pushing VR as a future use case for their products at least for the last year, if not longer. So, it seems natural that Crytek and AMD have announced a partnership as a part of Crytek’s VR First initiative.
