Sprint Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge getting Marshmallow update
Are you the owner of a Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 edge? Well you’re in luck, because both devices are receiving the Marhsmallow update now. Android 6.0 Marhsmallow has tons of great improvements as it is, but Samsung has included a few goodies too.
With the update you’ll get Doze mode to save battery, customizable permissions for security, a new look for TouchWiz, and lots of improvements to make for a smoother and quicker experience. While it doesn’t seem like much at first, it really does make devices feel significantly better.
The update will be rolling out in stages, so if you don’t see it now, you’ll get it in a few days. Make sure to check for updates in Settings > About > Software updates and let us know how you like it!

Apple’s iPhone 6S Fares Well Versus Galaxy S7 And Snapdragon 820, Though Samsung Has The Edge
That’s not a play on words or a pun in the headline referencing Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. In fact I’ve been testing and benchmarking the stuffing out of a Samsung Galaxy S7 (non-Edge variant) all week and so far the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC (System on Chip) that powers it, along with its 4GB of RAM config, seems to surpass the iPhone 6S and Apple A9 in many of the standard tests I’m running. The picture is becoming clearer with every test loop; the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor that powers Samsung’s latest Galaxy is potent, especially when it comes to multithreaded processing and graphics. However, there’s a bit of nuance here and a definite hat-tip I’ll toss Apple’s way, for the way the iPhone 6S has held up under pressure in the test runs I’ve completed thus far.

Verizon offering new promos; now selling Samsung Galaxy View
Verizon is fighting hard to stay competitive with the other carriers and today, the company is launching a whole host of new promos as well as a new tablet. We’ll get things rolling with the promos. First up is a $100 bill credit for new Verizon customers who purchase a DROID Turbo, DROID Turbo 2, DROID Maxx 2, Samsung Galaxy S7 or Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. Again, this offer is only good for new Verizon customers.
The next offer is good for both existing and new Verizon customers, and it applies to the same phones as the previous offer. Customers who trade in a smartphone in good working condition and upgrade or add a line with one of the qualifying phones can get a $300 guaranteed trade-in value that’s issued as a Verizon credit, so it can be used towards bills, device purchases and more.
Verizon is also offering a free Gear VR or Gear S2 to customers who purchase a Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 edge. You will need to activate the free device on a two-year contract to receive this deal.
Finally, Verizon is offering up to $650 to cover the switching costs of those who come to Verizon. This can be used towards things like paying off your phone, covering early termination fees and any other costs that may accompany your switch to Verizon from another carrier.
In addition to all of those offers, Verizon has begun selling Samsung’s massive Galaxy View tablet. The Galaxy View is known for its 18.4-inch 1080p display, but other specs include a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of storage plus microSD card slot, 5700mAh battery, 4G LTE support and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. This is priced at $599 full retail price or $499 on a two-year contract, though you could always break the cost up over monthly payments.
