There Is No ‘The Division’ Review Embargo Because There Are No Early Review Copies

Ubisoft is charting an…interesting course forward with the way The Division will be covered by the games press at launch. It’s been unclear when review copies and codes would arrive, and now it’s become apparent that they simply won’t. Fans asking when the review embargo is for the game now have their answer. There isn’t one, and the press will be playing the full game for the first time at launch, like everyone else.

From HBO To YouTube, Creative Freedom Drives PYPO Co-Founder Stephanie Laing

You know when scripts from a television show generate great memes, something is working. HBO’s Veep is one of those shows (link contains language that may offend). But when it comes to jumping from Hollywood production to digital video entertainment, the travel is not always as easy. Funny or Die is one important exception, and it worked because the formula was right: Don’t BE Hollywood + Don’t pretend to BE YouTube = Create a new space.

Fail Fast: The Second Ingredient For A Successful Company

Having started my career in high-end restaurants, I took a different path than most into the data and analytics space. So, when people pose the question, ?What makes a business data-driven?? I think back to those early days. The success and failure of a high-end restaurant depends on three basic principles: (1) get aligned, (2) fail fast, and (3) be agile. These same principles can help lead other organizations to analytics and business success.

iPhone SE: How Much Is It Expected To Cost?

Rumor has it that Apple is going to be announcing a new 4-inch iPhone called the iPhone SE later this month. In a research report by credible Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities obtained by MacRumors, the iPhone SE is expected to cost somewhere between $400 and $500 without a contract. This would make the iPhone SE somewhere between $149 and $249 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 6S. And after the release of the iPhone SE, the price of the iPhone 5S is expected to be dropped in half from $450.
The economies of scale applied to smartphone components has made it easier for manufacturers to adapt to the downward pressures of product pricing, which is why it seemed inevitable for Apple to offer a lower priced device. In January, Apple said iPhone sales grew at the slowest pace since the original was introduced in 2007. Apple also forecasted revenue in the current quarter to decline for the first time in about 13 years. The lower price would enable Apple to reach more budget-minded consumers that are buying Androids and Windows Phones instead.
What other specifications will the iPhone SE have? The iPhone SE should have an A9 chip, Apple Pay, 16GB and 64GB storage options, Live Photos support, and a 1,642 mAh battery. The camera is expected to be 12-megapixels. Samsung and TSMC are the manufacturers behind the A9 chip in the iPhone SE. There should be at least two color options. And like the iPhone 6S, the cover glass of the iPhone SE is expected to have curved edges.
Designer Martin Hajek modeled and rendered concepts for the smaller sized iPhone SE from 9to5Mac, @onleaks and Curved.de. The 9to5Mac version is based on the iPhone 5S, but with softer edges. The Curved.de version looks like a scaled down version of the iPhone 6S. And the @onleaks version is a combination between the two. Below are the concepts Hajek put together of what the iPhone SE may look like:

Sony Xperia X and XA UK pre-orders kick off

At MWC last month, Sony retired the aging Xperia Z family and unveiled the new Xperia X series, comprising of three members so far – the Xperia X itself, the Xperia X Performance, and the Xperia XA.

And now two of those are already up for pre-order in the UK. We’re talking about the Xperia X and XA (pictured below), since the X Performance may never be sold in the UK as it turns out.

At the moment MobileFun is the only online retailer offering the X and XA on pre-order. The Xperia X is priced at £529, while the XA is a much more affordable £249.

Unfortunately there’s no information yet about when the two devices will start shipping, so if you desperately want either one all you can do right now is pre-order and then be patient. To learn more about the new Sony phones, make sure you read our detailed hands-on report.
