Android Pay said to be launching in UK in March

Google’s mobile payments service Android Pay will launch in the United Kingdom in March, according a new report from British newspaper The Telegraph which cites industry sources – the report has been taken down due to unknown reasons.

The service is currently only available in Google’s home country of the United States, where it started rolling out back in September last year. In December 2015, the Mountain View, California-based company announced that Android Pay will be launched in Australia in H1 2016.

El Vivo Xplay 5 se deja ver en fotos reales a menos de 24 horas de su presentación

Una vez terminado el Mobile World Congress, solo queda esperar por las presentaciones “extra” que se llevarán a cabo a lo largo del año. Entre los dispositivos por los que esperamos están el HTC One M10, el cual según los rumores será presentado el 11 de abril en Londres, y el OnePlus 3, que según el propio Carl Pei llegará en junio.

Sin embargo, el Vivo Xplay 5, otro peligroso contendiente, ha logrado llamar la atención de todos gracias a las poderosas especificaciones técnicas que poco a poco ha dado a conocer en forma de teaser, siendo la más importante la memoria RAM que alcanza los 6 GB. De esta manera, este terminal se convierte en el primer smartphone en portar dicha cantidad de memoria.

Ahora, faltando poco menos de 24 horas para su presentación oficial, la cual está planeada para llevarse a cabo el día 1 de marzo en China, las primeras fotografías reales del terminal se han filtrado y confirman el diseño que anteriormente se dejó ver en algunos renders que también se filtraron.

Una imagen vale más que mil palabras, así que solo basta con mirar la fotografía sobre estas líneas para darnos cuenta de que el Vivo Xplay 5 es hermoso, ya que cuenta con una pantalla curva a ambos lados que sigue las líneas de diseño impuestas por Samsung el año pasado con la presentación del Galaxy S6 Edge. Sí, copiar el diseño de otros fabricantes quizás no sea la mejor estrategia, pero el resultado final es bastante llamativo.

Tal y como mencionan en Phone Arena, el Vivo Xplay 5 será presentado en pocas horas y además de los 6 GB de RAM y el procesador Snapdragon 820, se espera una pantalla de 5,5 pulgadas con resolución QuadHD, así como cámaras trasera y frontal de 16 y 8 megapixeles, respectivamente.

Queda muy en claro que este terminal será un poderoso rival a vencer.Sin embargo, dado su origen asiático difícilmente lo veremos fuera de las fronteras de China, de manera que occidente lo tendrá muy difícil para hacerse con este primer terminal con 6 GB de RAM. A menos que alguna sorpresa nos aguarde durante la presentación.

Deal: Chromecast Audio available for just £14 in UK today

The Google Chromecast Audio has received a price cut in the United Kingdom, where retailer Currys is currently selling the device for just £14. That translates into a discount of £16.

A quick look at the device’s Google Store listing reveals a £30 price tag, meaning the discount is currently only available at Currys. Another important thing worth mentioning here is that the deal is for today only.

For those who aren’t already aware, Chromecast Audio – as the name suggests – is basically an audio streaming device that plugs into your speaker for streaming music through WiFi. It is compatible with the iPhone, iPad, Android devices, Mac and Windows laptop, as well as Chromebook.
