Everyone want Elytras, only thing my heart desires from 1.9 is Mending. via /r/Minecraft

Everyone want Elytras, only thing my heart desires from 1.9 is Mending.

For years I've been toiling on a survival castle and I have had it with those lazy pickaxes breaking all the time.

Seriously, you are here, in the zone, listening to some AC/DC while murdering some stone blocks with your enchanted diamond pickaxe when you realize it's about to break. All of the time you spent looking for diamonds, enchanting it and now it's going to let you down again, like a Star Wars prequel or Sean Bean dying all the time in movies.

But with 1.9, no more! With mending, you can cheat pickaxe death forever, and just keep going and going with the same pickaxe, building a complex relationship that can truly blossom to its full potential. May not be important for most of you guys, but when you're trying to reach height limit, the only thing you can do is use MCedit to elevate your build as a cube, then dig the damn thing out to get a good shape. And I can tell you, the digging required is driving me insane..

So, yes, I want to praise whoever decided to release Mending at Mojang like my personal savior. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I want to say, thank you, you've made a survival freak happy.

Amazon Increases Free Shipping Minimum From $35 To $49

If you are not an Amazon Prime user, then you will not be thrilled to hear that Amazon has increased its free shipping minimum by 40%. Specifically, the free shipping minimum has increased to $49 from $35. The price increase makes it easier for Prime users to justify the $99 per year ($49 for students) they are paying for two-day shipping and free same-day delivery in eligible zip codes plus access to Prime Video, Prime Music, Prime Photos, Prime Pantry, Prime Early Access, the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library and Amazon Family discounts. The last time Amazon increased its free shipping minimum was in 2013 when it went from $25 to $35. Fortunately, the free shipping minimum for books will remain at $25.
