AT&T LG G4 is now receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

So far, we’ve seen the LG G4 getting updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in South Korea, Europe, and Canada. Additionally, units sold by Sprint, US Cellular, and T-Mobile have already received their taste of Google’s latest treat. And now it’s time for the G4 sold by AT&T to be in the exact same position.

The over-the-air rollout is apparently under way as you read this, so if you have a G4 purchased from AT&T you might receive that coveted update notification at any time. If this hasn’t happened yet but you’re impatient, you can always manually check by using the appropriate menu in Settings. It’s a 971 MB download, though, so maybe use Wi-Fi to grab it.

After having updated your G4, it will be on software version H81020n. Aside from everything that Google’s packed into Android 6.0 (features such as Doze mode, Now On Tap, and the new permissions system for example), this release also comes with support for video calling, AT&T notes.

Cisco Earnings Preview: Currency Headwinds May Offset Better Carrier Spending

Cisco is scheduled to release its Q2 fiscal 2016 (ended January) earnings on Wednesday, February 10th. While the company managed to surpass market expectations with its Q1 results, its guidance for the recently concluded quarter wasn’t promising. Citing macroeconomic uncertainty leading to weak order growth and currency headwinds as the main reasons, Cisco stated at the end of Q1 that it expects flat revenue and non-GAAP EPS growth (year-over-year) for the second quarter of fiscal 2016. However, its performance should improve in subsequent quarters as its deferred revenues grew strongly during the first quarter.   Additionally, there have been several developments over the past few months that indicate a bright future for the company, including a long-term alliance with Ericsson and the Jasper acquisition.

What To Watch Out For When Tesla Reports Its Q4 Results

Tesla Motors is scheduled to announce financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 on February 10th.  In the first three quarters of this fiscal year, the Silicon Valley based auto maker delivered just over 33,000 vehicles, implying a pace that would leave it much short of its targeted figure of 55,000 deliveries in 2015. The company had revised its target to between 50,000 and 55,000 following a disappointing pace earlier in the year. However, given its third quarter performance, we were quite skeptical that the company would even be able to meet its revised targets. The company had delivered close to 11,600 vehicles and produced just over 13,000 units in the quarter. Those figures put deliveries at 33,180 and production at 37,058 units. To meet its full year targets, the company would have to increase deliveries by a minimum of 12% (~13,000 new deliveries) and deliver all of its surplus production from earlier this year(~4,000). These targets looked quite ambitious even though the company had been rapidly improving its production rate and narrowing the time lag between delivery and production.
