DC’s Next Crossover Is Obvious: ‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Meets ‘Gotham’

This week, executive producers Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg announced that two of their shows, The Flash and Supergirl, were crossing over, despite being on different channels. The CW’s Barry Allen (The Flash) will speed on over to meet up with Kara Danvers on CBS’ Supergirl for an episode called “World’s Finest.”

Young Voices Tackle The Music Business: Takeaways From Amsterdam’s Inaugural FastForward Conference

“If you want to know what’s next, be the one to create what’s next.”
These are words of inspiration that we hear often in the entrepreneurship world at large, and seldom within industries whose potential for innovation is held back by decades-old legal and political institutions. Yet, these are also the words that Sammy Andrews, strategic advisor to the music industry and founder of Sabotage New Media, told an international audience of young music professionals last night, during the final panel at the inaugural FastForward Conference in Amsterdam.
It neatly summed up the atmosphere of the conference, in which a diverse group of young solo artists, entrepreneurs, technologists, label executives, promoters and digital strategists gathered at the Musiekgebouw aan ‘t IJ over the course of two days to brainstorm and discuss what the future of the music industry could look like. There was a cap on attendance at approximately 120 delegates, and one could count the number of speakers and delegates over the age of 35 on two hands. Moreover, the attendees hailed from cities around the world, from London to South Africa to Japan (I was one of the few delegates from the United States).

Ya tenemos aquí la beta de Android Studio 2.0, te contamos todas las novedades

Android Studio 2.0 beta

A principios de noviembre del año pasado anunciábamos la versión 2.0 de Android Studio, una IDE (Entorno Integrado de Desarrollo) oficial del sistema operativo Android, diseñado para complementar lo que no tenía Android Studio 1.0 y adaptarse a su nueva versión de Android, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Android Studio al fin y al cabo es la mejor herramienta que puedes encontrar para programar en Android, y por lo tanto es usado por todos sus desarrolladores. Google no ha querido esperar más y a partir de hoy ya puedes disfrutar de la nueva versión de Android Studio, de momento, en base beta.

Android Studio 2.0 en fase beta, escalfando motores para su salida oficial

Tal y como pudimos ver ayer en su página oficial de descargas de Android Studio beta, Google ha puesto al fin a manos de todo el mundo la versión beta de esta IDE, donde ya podemos experimentar con algunas de las novedades con las que nos sorprendió.

Entre ellas, una de las más importantes es el Instant Run, característica que permite ver los cambios que tú mismo estás programando al mismo instante en tu emulador, tal y como vemos en este teaser con el que se programa con un Mac:

Por otro lado, su emulador ha sido drásticamente mejorado, y es que ahora prácticamente podrás crear el móvil con las características que tú quieras para testear tu aplicación, y ahora en adelante, siempre con la interfaz de Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Por ejemplo, podrás ser capaz de instalar .APK‘s con tan solo desplazar el archivo hacia el emulador, o por ejemplo rotar la pantalla, establecer un porcentaje de batería, modificar a tu gusto las dimensiones de la pantalla, simular llamadas o incluso realizar capturas de pantalla, entre muchas otras novedades.

Por último, falta descar su GPU Profiler, con el que podrás mirar frame por frame el proyecto que estés desarrollando, com por ejemplo un juego, permitiéndote así descubrir que causa un error de compilación o parecidos. Aunque Google defina su beta como casi-estable, recordad que podrías sufrir algun error de “forzar cierre” o lentitud. Macaw Research in Tambopata, Peru

I recently ran across a lovely video that documents one scientist’s ongoing research conducted in the field at the Tambopata Research Center in southeastern Peru. The objectives of the Tambopata studies are to develop conservation strategies and techniques for increasing the reproductive success of macaws and to help conserve other, more endangered, species.
