With a fresh start in 2016, Samsung wasted no time in reaffirming its SSD dominance, this time with an updated portable SSD solution. Dubbed the Portable SSD T3, the easily-pocketable gadget will make a debut ad CES as the direct successor to last year’s T1 model.
The unit has gotten a bit bigger and heavier, but comes with an array of improvements, like vertical NAND (V-NAND) memory, capable of read and write speeds of up to 450 MB/s. But perhaps the biggest upgrade is the capacity – the T3 is available in 250GB, 500GB, 1TB as well as the whopping 2TB of storage.
Other notable features of the Portable SSD T3 include a USC Type-C connector with support for USB 3.1 (backwards compatible with USB 2.0, of course). This allows for easy connection to full-size PCs and laptops, as well as mobile phones and other portable tech. Speaking of which, Samsung also offers an Android app to monitor storage and also make use of password-based AES 256-bit hardware encryption.
As for pricing and availability, the T3 will go on sale next month in Korea, China, the US and a few EU markets. Pricing is still unknown, but considering the 1TB T1 model launched at $600 and SanDisk is currently selling a 2TB portable SSD for about $800, we can definitely say that the Portable SSD T3 won’t come…

Letv quizás no sea la marca más conocida por los usuarios de Android. Existen otras empresas que a día de hoy cuentan con un mayor reconocimiento internacional, pero si algo he podido apreciar en estos últimos meses analizando terminales de procedencia asiática, terminales comunmente llamados “chinos”, es que el cambio y el ascenso de firmas desconocidas es muy espectacular. Por eso os sugiero que no descartéis de entrada el terminal que hoy quiere mostraros, el nuevo Letv 1s.
Considero que el punto más interesante de este Letv 1s, aunque es dificil no destacar otros apartados como la pantalla o su procesador, es sin duda el diseño. Y es que si bien estas compañías nos tratan de convencer de que el metal es algo importante para ellas, al final el único momento donde vemos este material es en su marco lateral, dejándonos un tanto fríos, pero no es el caso de este Letv. Contaremos con un cuerpo totalmente metálico que nos debería dar una gran sensación de terminal premium, además, acompañado de unos nada despreciables 7,5 mm. ¿Lo malo? La necesidad que tendrán nuestros conocidos de usarlo. Además contará en su parte trasera con un gran sensor de huellas realmente bonito.
Su pantalla también viene pisando fuerte, y es que nos encontramos delante de todo un phablet, con un panel IPS de 5,5 pulgadas con resolución Full HD. Además su brillo será muy notable, lo que nos permitirá contar con una mejor experiencia bajo la luz directa del sol.
No menos importante es su motor, un potente procesador Mediatek MTK6795 con 3GB de RAM que llega para competir directamente con la gama más alta de Qualcomm, como su Snapdragon 810. Tendremos 32 GB de memoria interna aunque en esta ocasión no podremos ampliarlos mediante micro SD. Llegará con Android 5.0 Lollipop y una versión ciertamente customizada de su capa de personalización.
En cuanto a su apartado fotográfico, su sensor trasero será de 13 megapíxeles y su delantero de 5 megapíxeles, quizás no sea la mejor cámara del mercado, pero esperemos que pueda darnos un rendimiento correcto cuanto menos. Su batería es de 3.000 mAh, y ojeando por encima sus especificaciones, podríamos decir que llegar al final del día con batería suficiente puede ser una tarea normal.
¿Y todas estas especificaciones por cuánto dices Pablo? En la tienda Gearbest lo encontramos por poco más de 190 euros, lo cual en mi opinión, es un precio más que interesante para un gran diseño y unas especificaciones que no son fáciles de superar en este nicho de mercado y precio. Si el diseño, pantalla y rendimiento son claves para ti, este puede ser tu teléfono.

It seems of late like there is an unlimited thirst for GPU performance at the right power efficiency. Whether it is deep learning, object recognition, artificial intelligence, simulations, VR or AR, the industry desperately needs GPU improvements. Many within the graphics industry would agree that a new era of graphics performance and efficiency is upon us. This new era is partly thanks to the fact that the entire industry is finally making the transition from the 28nm process node down to the 14 and 16nm FinFET (3D transistor) process nodes, a full process node shrink. It’s part process but it’s also architecture. Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Radeon Technologies Group’s (RTG) newest GPU architecture, codenamed Polaris, is the company’s latest architecture that is specifically designed with FinFET in mind enabling higher levels of performance while using significantly less power and using a smaller chip. This should translate to some extremely impressive power and performance improvements that could inevitably drive improved value to consumers while also improving yields and hopefully margins of the companies that make those GPUs.
