Malvertising: Three Things You Need To Know
Shortly before the winter holidays, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and Ernst & Young issued a joint report estimating the annual cost associated with a triad of fraudulent practices: infringed content (also known as piracy), invalid traffic, and “malvertising.” Their findings were arresting: each year, the digital advertising industry loses approximately $8.2 billion to fraudulent activity — $2.4 billion to piracy, $4.6 billion to invalid traffic, and over $1.1 billion to malvertising. iOS 9.3 beta brings multi-user support to iPads, only in schools though
Yet another Android feature is coming to iOS, just on iPads for now. This time around it’s multi-user support, which is now official with the release of the first beta of iOS 9.3 for developers. However, there’s a big catch – at the moment multi-user support is only available for schools. Yet if Apple took the time to implement this, it’s probably safe to assume that a wider release should follow in the future (with iOS 10 perhaps).
As the name implies, multi-user support (which Apple is calling Shared iPad) lets different people (or, in this case, students) use the same hardware, with all of their content being “ready to go” as soon as they log in. All their apps, books, and documents will just be there, thanks to “intelligent caching” – apparently there won’t be a need to wait for anything to download.
This is obviously meant to address the fact that not all schools can afford to buy one iPad for each student. But Apple’s renewed education push also comes with tools for teachers, through which they can, for example, guide what students are looking at on their devices, using the new Classroom app. If you’re a teacher, you can see what your students see, launch and lock apps on their iPads, share student work on a TV with Apple TV, as well as reset forgotten passwords.
There are even more new things in iOS 9.3 beta. Night Shift is a feature that mimics apps such as f.lux or Twilight, automatically shifting the colors in your device’s display to warmer ones after sunset. This will help you get a better night’s sleep, according to research that shows that exposure to bright blue light in the evening can affect your circadian rhythms.
You’re now able to secure notes with your fingerprint or a password, News gets faster and contains even more personalized stories, and the Health app shows your move, exercise, and stand data from your Apple Watch. You can also see your goals in the same place. CarPlay receives a Nearby feature in Maps showing you gas stations, parking spaces, restaurants, coffee shops, and more with just one tap. The New and For You sections from Apple Music are now accessible in CarPlay too.
In the past, the public beta of a new iOS version followed the developer release within a few days, so perhaps that will happen again this time. The last public beta was outed by Apple in December for iOS 9.2.1.

Microsoft offers free Type Cover with the Surface 3 until January 17
If you’re interested in purchasing a Microsoft Surface 3 tablet, the software giant is now offering to sweeten up the deal significantly.

Cómo buscar y enviar imágenes, GIF, vídeos y mucho más desde un chat de Telegram
Telegram, son más de dos años en nuestras vidas, cambiando la forma en que interactuamos con nuestros contactos. Hace unos días te decíamos del porqué deberías desinstalar WhatsApp y usar Telegram, ahora su última actualización nos facilita aún más la vida.
Meses atrás hablamos de la llegada de los primeros bots a Telegram los cuales podríamos añadir a nuestros grupos y llamarlos para cumplir con una tarea en específico, pero su función no podría ser aprovechada en los chats independientes por lo cual llegan los Inline Bots.
¿Qué son los Inline Bots?
Los Inline Bots nos permiten compartir contenido en nuestros chats independientes con sólo citar a dichos bots, según publicación realizada en el blog oficial de Telegram. De este modo, si quisiéramos enviar un gif sólo tendríamos que escribir @gif luego de la palabra clave. El motivo de la integración de estos a nuestros mensajes cotidianos es facilitar el modo en que enviamos contenido en la plataforma.
Imagina tener una larga conversación con ese amigo de toda la vida, y de momento quieres mostrarle un vídeo de YouTube. Tendrías que salir de Telegram, entrar a la aplicación oficial de YouTube y buscar el vídeo para luego enviarle el enlace. Con los nuevos bots podrías hacer esto con sólo mencionar al bot dedicado: @vid.
Exprésate con @gif
Tal vez una de las mejores invenciones del internet desde su llegada, los gif dan vida a nuestras palabras, nos divierten y hacen de las conversaciones más amenas. Un verdadero fanático de los memes sabe de qué estoy hablando. Si quisieras enviar un gif sólo tendrías que escribir @gif luego de la palabra clave.
Estos gif son buscados en la tan famosa página Giphy y no es la primera vez que vemos una incorporación con la plataforma, ya que anteriormente podías buscar gif desde el área de “Enviar fotos”.
Comparte vídeos con @vid
YouTube es indiscutiblemente una de las webs con más tráfico en internet, y no es para menos, con un gran catálogo de vídeos y contenido a cada instante es difícil no pasar y suscribirse en algún canal. En lo personal Telegram lo utilizo la mayoría del tiempo para compartir vídeos, por lo que este bot me cae como anillo al dedo.
Escribiendo @vid seguido de lo que queremos buscar tendremos una pequeña lista de vídeos a los que podremos enviar el enlace relacionado. En este caso probados buscando vídeos del canal de YouTube de Andro4all.
Busca en Wikipedia con @wiki
Los tiempos cambian, mientras que nuestros padres tuvieron que vivir en una biblioteca para encontrar información a nosotros sólo nos cuesta unos clics acceder a ella. En nuestro Telegram sólo nos costará un @wiki seguido de las iniciales del idioma (en nuestro caso “es”) y lo que queremos buscar.
Imágenes de @bing
En esta ocasión nos llegan dos bots que cumplen con la función de buscar imágenes. El primero que mencionaremos será relacionada con el motor de búsqueda de Microsoft, Bing. Aunque el buscador es más variado por ahora sólo tendremos la posibilidad de buscar imágenes, para esto como los anteriores bots tendremos que escribir @bing seguido de la palabra clave.
Busca imágenes con @pic
Si no te convence la propuesta de Microsoft tal vez te gusté Yandex Image Search. Con una búsqueda más apegada a nuestra petición podremos utilizarla con un simple @pic y la palabra clave a buscar.
Cambia el estilo de fuente con @bold
Markdown Bot nos brinda la posibilidad de cambiar nuestros chats en negrita, cursiva o pixelado. Con un simple @bold acompañado del texto que quieras, el bot te dará la opción de elegir entre los tres diferentes estilos. Ideal si quieres crear cierto dramatismo a la conversación o si quieres enfatizar algo.
Consulta tus películas y series con @imdb
El séptimo arte mueve a las audiencias a nivel mundial y no hay nada mejor que avisar a tus amistades de las nuevas películas o series que están por estrenar. La búsqueda de títulos se nos facilita al escribir @imdb seguido de la película o serie.
Siendo apenas los primeros bots podríamos ver con mucho entusiasmo la decisión de los programadores al integrarlos a todas nuestras conversaciones. Es aplaudible la forma tan rápida de brindarnos novedades, y por si fuera poco han habilitado una API de Telegram para desarrolladores
