According to a new report out of Germany, the Microsoft Lumia 650 will go on sale in the country early next month. This is inline with recent reports that said the device will be made official on February 1.
As per the report, O2 Germany will have the Windows 10-powered handset in stock, although only the black variant will be available for purchase. As for the price, the smartphone will carry a tag of 219, which is around $238 at current exchange rates.
The new report comes just a few days after it was revealed that the Lumia 650 will be priced at CZK 5,491 (around $222 or 203) in the Czech Republic. The device has already been the subject of several rumors and leaks until now.

There’s some speculation afoot. We already know that Bungie plans to ditch major expansions in favor of smaller, free events over the course of Destiny’s second year, but we’re in the dark as to what they’re going to be. The first of those events — the Sparrow Racing League — was a nice little surprise, and a welcome change of pace from the rest of the game. Perhaps the next one will deal in PvP as well? A NeoGAF user noticed Bungie designer Lars Bakken playing an unknown crucible mode called “Crimson Doubles,” and it’s fired up people’s imaginations.

En los últimos días, las distribuciones basadas en Android X86 están llamando mucho la atención. Puede que el éxito de Android o puede que se deba a su presentación oficial en el CES, no lo sé, en cualquier caso ya no sólo existe Remix OS sino que ha aparecido otra distribución llamada Phoenix OS.
Realmente no sé si llamarlo distribución pero es que es muy similar ya que tienen un kernel de linux, un conjunto de interfaces y servidores como el servidor gráfico, un gestor de archivos, un gestor de ventanas, aplicaciones preinstaladas, etc… Vamos lo que viene siendo una distribución, pero claro está, no es GNU. Y es que parece que a pesar de que Android es considerado como un proyecto de Software Libre, estas versiones no lo son tanto.
Hace poco descubríamos que Remix OS vulneraba varias licencias GPL y Apache. En el caso de Phoenix OS aún no está muy claro pero el desarrollo es incipiente aún por lo que posiblemente muchas licencias no se haya corregido y al igual que Remix OS, Phoenix OS también las incumpla. Sin embargo la diferencia entre una distribución y otra es que Jide hay manifestado que Remix OS no es Software Libre por lo que el incumplimiento es claro mientras que de Phoenix OS no ha manifestado claramente que tipo de sistema operativo es.
En cualquier caso no hay que olvidar que tanto Remix OS como Phonenix OS sólo se pueden usar e instalar a través del USB, es decir, a través del funcionamiento del LiveCD, no se puede instalar en el disco duro pero esto seguramente será algo que se solucionará rápidamente. Aún así, desde Linux Adictos os recomendamos que optéis por utilizar una distribución Gnu/Linux y utilicéis estos sistemas operativos como modo de prueba, nunca para ordenadores de producción.
