Motorola begins allowing bootloader unlocks on Verizon Moto X (2014)

If you own a Motorola Moto X (2014) on Verizon, here is some good news: the carrier has started allowing bootloader unlocks on the smartphone. The news came courtesy of Motorola Forums Manager.

“Hey, everyone. Just wanted to let you know that we did get the green light to unlock the bootloader on Verizon 2014 Moto X (2nd Gen) devices,” Matt (the forums manager) said, while making it clear that they can’t do this for devices on other carriers.

For those planning to unlock the bootloader for the first time, keep in mind that the process – which allows you to install third-party ROMs – will void the warranty of your device. Plus, there are many other risks, too. Head to the Source 2 link below for all the details, including how to unlock the bootloader on your Motorola device.

Following The Paris Climate Conference, The Mudslinging Starts

The COP21 climate meeting in Paris has ended with one certitude – limiting the rise in global mean temperatures will require all forms of low-carbon energy to expand dramatically, including hydro, wind, solar, biomass, efficiency and nuclear. But some anti-nuke activists, who also fashion themselves as climate activists, disagree and are attacking the top climate scientists like Dr. James Hansen as being climate denialists in their support of nuclear energy as a part of the solution. But then, they like Goldman Sachs better than Bill Gates as stewards of the planet. Go figure.

Sony Xperia Z5 Pink now official

When Sony introduced the Xperia Z5, it showed four different color options for its new flagship. If none of them appealed to you, Sony’s now got a fifth hue to choose from.

The Sony Xperia Z5 will be available in pink starting in February 2016. Sony isn’t saying much about the pink Z5’s availability other than that, but wherever it ends up launching, we wouldn’t expect the “light dusky pink” phone to cost any more than the other four color options.

If you need a refresher on the Xperia Z5’s specs, this flagship Android phone is packing a 5.2-inch 1920×1080 display, 23-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, and a 2900mAh battery powering the whole package.

The pink Xperia Z5 is largely the same as the other four color options that’ve been available for a while now, but the new pink hue helps to get Sony’s flagship some attention as we head into 2016.
