Valve confirms Steam issue resolved, explains what happened

Gaming company Valve has now confirmed that the Steam security issue that allowed unauthorized access to other users’ personal information has been resolved and the service is now back up.

“Steam is back up and running without any known issues,” a Valve spokesperson said. The company also revealed that the issue occurred due to a configuration change.

“A caching issue allowed some users to randomly see pages generated for other users for a period of less than an hour. This issue has since been resolved. We believe no unauthorized actions were allowed on accounts beyond the viewing of cached page information and no additional action is required by users.”

For those who aren’t already aware, the issue in question allowed Steam users to see other users’ information – such as email address and credit card data – instead of their own details on their Account Details…

Lenovo confirms K4 Note will feature fingerprint sensor and NFC

Lenovo has confirmed that its upcoming K4 Note smartphone will come with a fingerprint sensor as well as near field communication (NFC) capabilities. The confirmation came in the form of a tweet (shown below).

This comes just a few days after the Chinese company officially confirmed that the handset will have 3GB RAM.

How to SIM unlock the HTC One M9

We have to admit, the HTC One M9 isn’t the best Android phone of 2015, but it is a lot better than many. The phone features a 5-inch 1080p display, a decent 20 megapixel main camera on the back and an UltraPixel (4 megapixels for those who don’t speak HTC) front-facing camera which actually takes some incredible selfies – even in low light. While’s it’s aluminum unibody design didn’t change much when compared to the HTC One M8, the performance of the phone is dramatically better thanks to 3GB of RAM and its Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. Somehow HTC’s engineers managed to tame the processor that so many other manufacturers struggles to keep under control.

But if you’re reading this article, you probably already know all this. You’re here because you purchased your HTC One M9 from your service provider and now want to unlock it so that you can take it on an international trip or switch service providers to get a better deal or better reception. We’re here to walk you through the process.

HTC One M9 SIM unlock process

To SIM unlock your HTC One, you will need your phone’s IMEI number, a SIM unlock code and a SIM card from an alternate service provider. The steps below walk you through how to unlock your One M9 by purchasing a SIM unlock code from htcsimunlock.com for $12.99, but you can also use androidsimunlock.com or other similar sites. Follow the steps below and your HTC One M9 will be SIM unlocked in a matter of minutes.

  • Open the phone app and dial *#06# on your phone to get your IMEI number
  • Visit a third-party unlocking service like htcsimunlock.com
  • Enter your phone’s IMEI number and enter your payment details to purchase the code
  • Your code will be emailed to you in less than 30 minutes
  • Replace your phone’s SIM card with one from another service provider
  • When the SIM is inserted into the phone, an unlock screen will appear
  • Enter your HTC One M9 SIM unlock code
  • Your HTC One M9 is now SIM unlocked!

In many cases, your phone will automatically recognize the network settings associated with the new SIM card you are using in the phone. If it doesn’t, you will need to manually configure the APN settings on the HTC One M9 to obtain a data connection.

NOTE: If you are trying to SIM unlock a T-Mobile HTC One M9, Android SIM Unlock offers an unlock service for phone which use T-Mobile’s Device Unlock app.

Instala CyanogenMod 13 en el Samsung Galaxy S6

TouchWiz experimentó una notable mejora este año, y no se puede negar que la capa de personalización de Samsung ha alcanzado cierta madurez y no sería acertado llamarle lagwiz como en antaño. Sin embargo, existen muchos propietarios de un Samsung Galaxy S6 que prefieren una experiencia de Android puro en su dispositivo, y hoy vamos a elaborar un tutorial para conseguirlo por medio de la ROM Cyanogen Mod 13.

Por si fuera poco, Cyanogen Mod 13 está basada en Android Marshmallow, y dicha actualización aún no ha llegado al Samsung Galaxy S6. Así que instalar esta ROM en tu dispositivo es un movimiento redondo por donde sea que lo veamos. Eso sí, la versión de Cyanogen Mod 13 que estamos por instalar se encuentra en estado nightly, por lo que es posible que el sistema no sea completamente estable y podamos encontrar alún bug o fallo.

Instalar Cyanogen Mod 13 nightly paso a paso en el Samsung Galaxy S6

Si tienes experiencias previas instalando ROMS verás que el procedimiento de instalación es similar al de instalar cualquier ROM en otro dispositivo. Como siempre, será necesario tener acceso root (aprende a rootear tu Samsung Galaxy S6) y seguidamente deberás instalar ClockWorkMod, el recoverie custom de turno. Después, es necesario hacer lo siguiente:

  • Descarga CyanogenMod 13 en tu Samsung Galaxy S6.

  • Descarga las Google Apps.

  • Transfiere los archivos recién descargados a cualquier directorio del dispositivo.

  • Apaga el móvil y entra al modo recovery con presionando los botones de encendido, volumen arriba y home al mismo tiempo.

  • Utiliza los botones de subir y bajar volumen para desplazarte hazta wipe data/factory reset y pulsa el botón home para hacer un reestablecimiento de fábria.

  • Selecciona wipe data/factory reset wipe cache partition con los botones de volumen y presiona el botón home.

  • Desplázate hasta install zip > install zip from /sdcard y busca el archivo zip donde está ubicado Cyanogen Mod 13.

  • Vé hasta install zip > install zip from /sdcard y busca el archivo zip donde están ubicadas las Google Apps.

  • Selecciona reboot system now y espera a que tu móvil se reinicie.
