It happens all of the time. My friend and colleague James Spann experienced it Christmas night as a tornado was affecting the Birmingham, Alabama metropolitan area. A disgruntled viewer who apparently likes Lebron “with an e” James posted a profanity-laden tweet to James complaining. The legendary meteorologist’s response was perfect:

While we were expecting LeTV to launch its first smartphone in India on January 5, the Chinese company has now revealed that the launch will happen sometime in the mid of the month. The revelation was made during the company’s fan meetup in Bengaluru.
The phone that will be launched has also been revealed: the Le Max. The company said that the device will be showcased during the January 5 event, which is scheduled to be held in the country’s capital city of New Delhi. Some other smartphones will also be launched along with the Le Max, LeTV confirmed.
Specs-wise, the Le Max is powered by a Snapdragon 810 SoC and sports a 6.33-inch (2560 x 1440 pixel resolution) display. It comes with 4GB RAM and 32/64/128GB internal memory options, and packs in a 3,400mAh battery. In terms of camera, the device features a 21MP rear unit and a 4-UltraPixel front shooter.
Measuring 167.1×83.5×8.95mm and weighing in at 204g, the Le Max runs Android 5.0 (Lollipop) based EUI, and also features a fingerprint…

Querida por muchos y odiada por tantos, los surcoreanos siempre están en la boca de todos. Tras pasar unos años de dudas, con terminales de gama alta que no terminaban de encajar y gamas bajas que eran mejor evitar, 2015 ha sido sin duda alguna su mejor año.
Un nuevo diseño
La gama alta de Samsung ha dado un salto de gigante respecto a sus versiones anteriores. Lo primero que cabe destacar es el abandono del plástico por los materiales premium. Bien es verdad que el plástico o policarbonato tiene sus ventajas, pero cuando uno adquiere un terminal de 700 euros, quiere que se vea lo mejor posible en la mano. Así pues, desde el Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung ha decidido apostar por el diseño premium.
Y nos encanta. Sus últimos terminales tanto de alta como de media/baja gama lucen muy bien, notándose el buen trabajo por parte de la firma.
Hardware de última generación
Samsung ha fabricado este año los mejores terminales en cuanto a rendimiento. [El Samsung galaxy S6 edge+ es posiblemente el mejor terminal del 2015](http://ift.tt/1QJoZ3B%5D y ello es culpable su magnífico hardware. Pero no sólo él, si no también el Galaxy Note 5, la Galaxy Tab S2 o su wearable, el Gear S2.
Ya vimos a principio de año que los nuevos modelos surcoreanos no tenían nada que ver con los modelos de otros años y es que los procesadores Exynos han sido los tímidos protagonistas que han catapultado a Samsung a las primeras posiciones. Ningún otro procesador ha podido igualarles, es una sensación que sólo se puede llegar a entender cuando encendemos un tope de gama de Samsung. El rendimiento de sus dispostivos en 2015 –salvo pocas excepciones– es prácticamente perfecto, algo que echábamos en falta en una firma tan poderosa como ésta.
Un software mejorado
TouchWiz ya no es Lagwiz, o por lo menos ya no tanto. La capa de personalización de Samsung se ha visto aliviada, ya no pesa tanto, es más bonita estéticamente, es más útil y en consecuencia, funciona mejor. Sigue siendo muy invasiva por lo que seguirá sin gustar a los amantes de Android nativo, pero está en el buen camino de ser una capa de personalización casi perfecta.
En conclusión, lejos está decir que TouchWiz produce lag y todas esas memeces que se decían hace años. Samsung ha creado un buen software y con un ecosistema de aplicaciones propias muy útiles. Personalmente yo me sigo quedando con Android stock y su experiencia de usuario, pero empiezo a ver con otros ojos a TouchWiz.
Samsung, un año casi redondo
En el punto de mira de Samsung se encuentra Apple y su iPhone y se nota. 2015 ha sido un año de renovación para los surcoreanos, con mejoras de diseño, de hardware y de software. Tal vez las ventas no hayan sido las esperadas –pero es que Apple ha roto todos los récords de mercado— pero nos encanta que Samsung haya dado este gran giro en su política, aunque haya sido con el único objetivo de competir contra Apple.
No son los precios más competitivos, no es Android puro, pero Samsung se coloca como la líder de Android en 2015. Sus terminales han encantado a la crítica de todos los países y han liderado todos los benchmarks , por lo que pueden enorgullecerse del año que han realizado. Pero que no se duerman en los laureles, han aparecido muchas marcas que quieren llegar a lo más alto –y algunas con mejores precios–, por lo que habrá que ver si la corona del 2016 la sigue manteniendo Samsung o por el contrario se la tiene que ceder a otro.

It seems a little odd that the biggest Star Wars video game of the year and the new record-breaking Star Wars movie have almost nothing to do with each other. While I understood Battlefront’s focus on the original trilogy in the lead-up to the movie’s release in order to avoid spoilers about the new universe, I figured that as part of the massive follow-up DLC campaign, we would see The Force Awakens work its way into the game post-movie release.
Launched back in 2013, the Nintendo 2DS gaming console will finally be available for purchase in Japan in the next couple of months. The country, however, will be getting four special edition transparent variants of the device, preloaded with Pokémon Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow (shown below).
Of the variants shown above, the red and the blue models have already been available outside of Japan since last year. In Japan however, all four variants will come with a decorative sticker and special menu theme, as well as a poster based on the Kanto region’s map.
Those purchasing the console will also get a download code for the Pokémon Mew that will also work with some 3DS games, including the Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, as well as Pokémon X and Y. As for the price, each variant will carry a JPY 9,980 price tag, which translates into around $83. They will be available for purchase starting February 27- pre-orders have already begun.
The start-up’s founder and chief says happiness, in particular the happiness of his employees, will separate his company from ventures that have failed.
