Samsung Galaxy A9 combines 6-inch display with 4000mAh battery and Snapdragon 652 processor

Samsung is one company that helped to make phablets a thing, launching the original Galaxy Note way back in 2011. Fast-forward five years and Samsung is still cranking out phablets, with the latest model being the Galaxy A9.

The Samsung Galaxy A9 has been officially introduced in China, boasting a 6-inch 1920×1080 Super AMOLED display that’s the largest in Samsung’s Galaxy A family of devices. To compare, the Galaxy A3 has a 4.7-inch screen, the A5 has a 5.2-inch display, and the Galaxy A7 has a 5.5-inch display. One thing that the Galaxy A9 has in common with its Galaxy A siblings, though, is its Galaxy S6 styling, which includes a metal trim.

samsunggalaxya9official

The Galaxy A9 is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 — formerly Snapdragon 620 — processor that’s paired with 3GB of RAM. It’s got 13-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front cameras, 32GB of storage, a microSD that’ll let you supplement that with additional storage, and both NFC and MST support for Samsung Pay. One other notable feature of the Galaxy A9 is its battery, which measures in at 4000mAh.

Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy A9 in China, but there’s no word yet on how much it’ll cost.

The A9 looks like an interesting phablet option for folks that are into those big devices. It’s not quite as high-end as the Galaxy Note 5, but its spec list is pretty respectable. And when you combine features like a 1920×1080 display and Snapdragon 652 with a 4000mAh battery, the Galaxy A9 should get some pretty decent battery life. So if you like phablets and want one with solid battery life, be sure to keep an eye out for the A9 in China’s shops or your preferred device import shop.

YouTube says all video traffic is being throttled by T-Mobile, even if you opt out of Binge On

A YouTube spokesperson told the Wall Street Journal that T-Mobile is throttling all video traffic to its subscribers, whether or not you opted out of Binge On.

Binge On is T-Mobile’s newest Un-Carrier movement that gives customers the freedom to stream video from any of the approved video services without counting against your monthly data allowance.

T-Mobile is receiving a lot of flak from net neutrality supporters deeming that T-Mobile is treating data unfairly and not providing internet that is fair for all internet services.

Magenta hasn’t yet replied to the accusations made by YouTube, but it has said that customers are really enjoying Binge On and “customers love having free streaming video that never hits their data bucket”.

The problem here lies with T-Mobile degrading all other video traffic and not notifying the customer of what’s going on. We have seen situations like these end up in FCC fines *cough* AT&T *cough* where the carrier was throttling its subscribers without their knowledge.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 destacada

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 pantalla

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 software

Dell XPS 15 Rivals MacBook Pro With Desktop Replacement-Like Performance, Killer Good Looks

Since Michael Dell took his company private in late 2013, the computing giant has been on a proverbial execution tear. Though some may have scoffed at the idea, there was clearly plenty of merit to the benefits of being free from the shackles of answering to Wall Street, and just going after what the company’s management, marketing and engineering teams felt would bring the ROI. Around this time last year, Dell unveiled their flagship 13-inch XPS 13 notebook with its near bezel-less Infinity Edge display and hybrid carbon fiber construction. The new notebook was heaped with praise primarily for its industrial design chops, ergonomics and gorgeous styling. It was so well-received in fact that questions immediately started circulating whether or not Dell would bring the same sort of revamp to their 15-inch XPS 15 line as well.

Critical Healthcare Lessons For Serving High-Risk Populations

Significant gaps in the care of high-risk populations, an escalating rate of chronic disease and the aging of America, add up to less than desirable outcomes.
