Moto 360 (2nd gen) starts at just £200 in the UK until December 27
If you’re in the UK, Motorola is now giving you the opportunity to purchase the 2nd generation Moto 360 smartwatch for quite a bit less than before.
This deal expires on December 27. From now and up until then, you can buy the 42mm men’s Moto 360 starting at just £200 (if you use the promo code UKXMASM42). The 46mm men’s model is £230 (promo code UKXMASM46), while the 42mm women’s smartwatch goes for £210 (with promo code UKXMASW42).
Of course, these prices are only for the base configurations. If you choose additional customizations through Moto Maker, then you will need to pay more. Still, you are saving £29, £39, or £49, depending on which exact model you pick up.

Meizu arrasa en ventas al aumentar un 340% respecto al pasado año
Meizu es uno de esos fabricantes chinos que ha conseguido abrirse un hueco en el sector a base de trabajo. Su gama de teléfonos sorprendió por su increíble relación calidad precio y dispositivos como el aclamado Meizu MX4 fueron uno de los pilares del auge de esta compañía.
Y es que Meizu no para de crecer: durante este año han conseguido vender 20 millones de terminales, una cifra que se traduce en un 350% más de ventas respecto al mismo preiodo del pasado año.
Las ventas de Meizu no paran de crecer, ¿llegará a ser el mayor fabricante de China?
Si bien es cierto que en el mercado asiático es más fácil vender más teléfonos por la densidad de población, el mérito de Meizu es increíble ya que también y hay decenas de fabricantes luchando por hacerse un hueco en el lucrativo mercado chino.
Otro dato que demuestra el buen estado de la compañía es que Meizu ha incrementado sus beneficios en un 540% durante el segundo cuarto del presente año 2015 comparado al mismo periodo del pasado año. Una cifra abrumadora que demuestra el buen hacer del fabricante asiático. Y parece que quieren más.
Ha sido el propio CEO de Meizu, Jack Wong, quién ha afirmado que la compañía debe aspirar más alto y buscar nuevas metas. ¿La última? conseguir llegar a los 26 millones de unidades vendidas durante el próximo año 2016.
Además el fabricante tiene varios planes de expansión. Actualmente la compañía carece de una infraestructura propia para producir sus propios teléfonos, necesita acudir a diferentes distribuidores. Pero quiere cambiar ese aspecto para convertirse en una compañía más autónoma. Y rentable.
Lo que sí está claro es que Meizu está haciendo las cosas realmente bien, ofreciendo unos productos con una calidad impresionante y a un precio realmente atractivo. Y viendo cómo van las ventas y el éxito que están teniendo la gama MX del fabricante con sede en Guangdong estoy seguro que van a seguir creciendo.Eso sí, esperemos que no se les suba el éxito a la cabeza y sepan adaptarse al mercado, no vaya a ser que se acaben quemando por acercarse demasiado al Sol…

ZTE unveils the Axon Max with a 6-inch display and 13MP front camera
Selfies are probably still important to some folks out there in the wild, so having a camera with a high megapixel count on the specs sheet might be enough to warrant a second glance. If that’s the case, and you happen to be in China and can wait until later this month, ZTE’s got a phone for you.
The manufacturer has just unveiled a brand new member of its Axon lineup of devices, the Axon Max. The device boasts a 6-inch 1920×1080 AMOLED panel and is running Android 5.1 with ZTE’s custom UI called Mifavor 3.5. Under the hood there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor and 3GB of RAM, with 32GB of built-in storage with a microSD card slot if the built-in storage isn’t enough.
On the front of the handset there’s a 13MP camera, and on the back a 16MP shooter with a flash. There’s a fingerprint reader as well, and it’s all put together in an aluminum body that measures in at 7.5mm-thick.
The battery is measured in at 4140mAh. The port on the bottom is a reversible USB Type-C that offers Quick Charging 2.0.
ZTE has the Axon Max up for pre-order right now if you’re interested and live in China. It retails for 2799 Yuan, or around $432. It should release later this month, according to ZTE. However, there’s no word yet on whether or not it will see the light of day outside of China.

Este año 2015 tiene ya los días contados, y por ello, es necesario mirar atrás con añoro y pensar en lo mejor que hemos visto en el ámbito de los smartphones. Dentro de este increíble y fascinante mundillo, los medios se suelen centrar principalmente en los topes de gama, los buques insignia de cada compañía. No obstante, en los últimos dos o tres años, han surgido los llamados gama media, los cuales se esfuerzan por conseguir el equilibrio perfecto entre precio y prestaciones.
Es precisamente este rango de teléfonos en el que fijaremos nuestra atención en el día de hoy, puesto que ha llegado la hora de decidirse por el mejor smartphone de gama media de 2015. Indiscutiblemente, las opciones son casi infinitas, ya que últimamente se han unido las alternativas chinas a los terminales de gama media que ya nos ofrecían las compañías de toda la vida como Motorola o Samsung.
Este año ha sido increíble para la gama media. Con opciones como el Xiaomi Mi 4c o el OnePlus X, la decisión del mejor terminal va a ser, indudablemente, una de las más duras. Todos ellos tienen sus carencias y aquéllo en lo que sobresalen, ya que no existe el smartphone perfecto. Sin embargo, lo que está claro es que hoy en día no hay porque gastarse un dineral en un buque insignia, pudiendo conseguir un gama media por la mitad de precio.

A bunch of new handsets show on the Windows 10 mobile horizon
AdDuplex released its monthly report showing Windows Mobile distribution and a snapshot of the data from December 15 shows Windows 10 mobile is slowly but surely making progress.
The sales of Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL and Lumia 550 last month have bumped the Windows 10 mobile usage by 1.8 percentage points bringing the overall share to 8.8%. Windows Phone 7.x and Windows Phone 8.0 are down 0.2 percentage points each, while Windows Phone 8.1 is down 1.3%.
Additionally, AdDuplex data for December shows some new devices that are yet to hit the smartphone market. One of them is the Lumia 650 (RM-115(x)) with a 5″ 720p display. The other new one is RM-1160/1162, which packs a 5.4″ 720p display, for which we anticipate more information in the near future.
The report suggests that LG and HP are preparing new devices. LG will have a LG V496 (LG G Pad 8.3 in the Android realm), but repurposed to run Windows 10 mobile. As for HP, the company is preparing the Falcon with a 5.4″ 1280×768 pixel resolution. We recently saw the device in a benchmark setting to pack a Snapdragon 820 and a QHD resolution on a 5.8″ display. Hopefully, we’ll have final specs for HP’s upcoming Windows flagship soon…
