China’s market for enterprise IT is huge, but the share that goes to cloud computing is still comparatively small. Sales of cloud computing hardware and services amounted to about $4 billion in 2014, only about 5 percent of China’s total IT market. That’s much lower than the 11 percent of global IT spending on the cloud.

The next season of the A-Team is on! Samsung just unveiled the new Galaxy A7, A5 and A3, which add OIS cameras, fingerprint sensors and support for Samsung Pay’s magnetic strip card emulation.
The new Samsung Galaxy A series will launch in China first in mid-December, the global expansion will later on. Pricing has not been mentioned yet.
Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016)
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) is the biggest of the bunch, since there’s no A8 yet. It boasts a 5.5″ Super AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and an octa-core processor running Android 5.1 Lollipop.
The bezels around the screen of the new A-series have been shaved off, making the phones impressively narrow. Their bodies are constructed of metal and glass, just like the flagship Galaxy S and Note series. The Galaxy A7 measures 7.3mm thick (thicker than both the old A7 and A8) and weighs 172g (that’s heavier too).

On the plus side, the battery is now bigger at 3,300mAh battery and it supports Fast Charging. You get an extra gig of RAM, 3GB total, though the storage stays at 16GB. Good thing Samsung kept the microSD slot.
Also, the 13MP camera has a wider aperture, f/1.9, and features OIS. The selfie camera also has an f/1.9 aperture, that sounds like the Galaxy S6 setup.
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) has a fingerprint reader and Magnetic Secure Transmission (the tech to emulate magnetic strip cards). The new chipset brings LTE to Cat. 6 speeds (300Mbps, double what the old A7 got), a dual-SIM option will be available.

This one has outgrown its predecessor, it comes with 5.2″ Super AMOLED display with 1080p resolution (old A5 screen had a 5″ 720p screen). The old quad-core processor has been left behind in favor of an octa-core one (Samsung is stingy with exact chipset model). RAM and storage remain at 2GB and 16GB respectively.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) is thicker too, 7.3mm up from 6.7mm, and heavier, 155g up from 123g. The battery has grown too, 2,900mAh.

It uses the same camera as the A7, 13MP with OIS on the back and 5MP on the front. A fingerprint reader and Samsung Pay with MST are on board too. The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) will come in dual-SIM flavor as well.

The Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) got the biggest upgrade of the three. The wimpy qHD screen has been replaced with a bigger 4.7″ Super AMOLED unit with 720p resolution.
Also, the camera bump to 13MP is significant, both it and the 5MP selfie cam have f/1.9 apertures (no OIS here, though).
Samsung Galaxy A3
The processor remains at four cores and the RAM at 1.5GB, same for the storage – 16GB. The battery goes up to 2,300mAh, once again at the cost of thickness (7.3mm) and weight (132g). Dual-SIM will be available as an option, LTE is set at Cat. 4 (this is market dependent though).

Hoy es un buen día para el fabricante coreano, ya que sigue propulsándose a gran velocidad con novedades en forma de nuevos smartphones que contraataquen a todos esos terminales que quieren quitarle esa posición, ya no tan dominadora, que todavía posee y que le permite enfrentarse a púgiles de gran peso como es Apple. Pocos son los que pueden decir que pueden echarse un cara a cara con los de la manzana, algo de lo que se puede vanagloriar Samsung, aparte de ser una de las que ha permitido que Android llegue a ser lo que es hoy.
Si esos tres teléfonos que llegaron más o menos hará un año ha conseguido que Samsung se motive para sacar una segunda generación, será por algo. Sobre todo, por lanzar unos teléfonos que de precio no andan mal y que nos llevan ante ese diseño premium que luego hemos visto en el Galaxy S6 y Note 5. Ahora tenemos a los tres recién lavados y peinados para que su padre, Samsung, nos muestre lo bien que lo van a hacer cuando les saque a la calle a pasear y sean el reclamo de miles de usuarios. El Galaxy A3, A5 y A7 ya son oficiales con una nueva forma en lo que es la lente de cámara y su posición, a la vez que tiene unas esquinas más redondeadas. Posiblemente esto último sea una pista de lo que nos depara en el Galaxy S7 en el diseño.
En la primera generación, aparte de lo que fue unos buenos terminales del fabricante coreano, nos sirvió para intuir lo que nos depararía en el nuevo Galaxy S6. Un Galaxy S6 al que esperábamos con muchas ganas para que, al menos, en el aspecto visual cambiara a ese plástico que había dominado a esta serie S desde el S3.
Ahora tenemos a la segunda que sigue con ese diseño premium, aunque en los materiales es donde se encuentra realmente la diferencia con un acabado mate que pasa a mejor vida y que fue el presente en la primera generación. El cristal y el metal son las dos señas de identidad para el cuerpo de estos tres teléfonos que siguen lo visto en el Galaxy S6.
Contamos también con el escáner de huellas dactilares en la tecla de home tanto para el A5 como para el A7, así que pasemos a conocer las vicisitudes de cada uno de estos tres smartphones que quieren atraer la atención del gran público, aunque este siga soñando con aquellos que llegan desde China…
El nuevo Galaxy A5 y Galaxy A7 comparten casi las mismas especificaciones aunque donde difieren, evidentemente, es en la pantalla con una de 5,5 pulgadas Super AMOLED resolución 1080p para el A7, mientras que el A5 se empequeñece hasta las 5,2 pulgadas con la misma resolución.
Ambos tienen al procesador Exynos 7 Octa-core a una velocidad de reloj de 1.6 GHz como el SoC que hará que funcione todos los procesos, mientras que en la RAM pasamos a los 2 GB en el A5 para tener 3 GB en el A7. La cámara se pasa a los 13MP en la trasera y 5 MP en la frontal para los dos, con la gran ventaja de que en esta segunda generación sí que se puede decir que tienen OIS o lo que es estabilización óptica de la imagen.
Donde Samsung da un paso hacia delante es en la batería, desde lo que es una de 3.300 mAh para el A7, de lo que fue con 2.600mAh, al A5 con 2.900 mAh, dejando atrás a esos 2.300 mAh en el primer A5. Al tener más batería no tenemos ni que decir que su grosor es mayor.
Samsung con estos teléfonos quiere llegar a todo tipo de usuarios, y ahora mismo tenemos un gran abanico de ellos donde quieren uno con gran pantalla como puede ser el A7 con sus 5,5″, o esas 4,7″ del Galaxy A3 con resolución 1080p. Este A3 de segunda generación tiene un chip Exynos quad-core 7580 a una velocidad de reloj de 1.5 GHz y lo que es una memoria RAM de 1.5 GB.
La cámara trasera con 13 MP, lo que aumenta en comparación del anterior A3 con 8 MP, mientras que la frontal se queda en una de 5MP. La batería pasa de lo que fueron esos 1.900 mAh a los 2.300 actuales.
En definitiva, estos tres nuevos smartphones son una actualización de lo que fue la primera generación. Algo esperado y que constata que Samsung seguirá apostando con esta serie para intentar seguir permaneciendo en una buena posición en ese mercado que se balancea como si estuviéramos ante una gran tormenta. El fabricante coreano se agarra al mástil de manera fuerte con estos tres nuevos terminales. Ahora solamente nos queda esperar para ver si ese Galaxy S7 de enero traerá cielos azules y la posibilidad de desplegar las velas para tomar el viento a favor.
