Several Gionee phones have been spotted listed on TENAA’s website in the past couple of months. And now, two more handsets from the company have been certified by the Chinese agency. The new devices carry a model number of GN9010L and GN5001S, respectively.
Starting with the GN9010L (see image below), its TENAA listing reveals that the handset is powered by a 1.3GHz octa-core CPU and sports a 5.5-inch (720 × 1280 pixel resolution) AMOLED display.
It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. In terms of camera, the device features an 8MP or 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter. Weighing in at 145.2 gms and measuring 151.9×74.6×6.9 mm, the GN9010L runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes in silver and gold color options.
Moving on to the GN5001S, it’s a low-end device which is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU and sports a smaller 5-inch (1280 × 720 pixel resolution) TFT display. It has 1GB RAM and 16GB expandable internal memory.
In terms of camera, the device features 8MP rear unit and a 5MP selfie shooter. Weighing in at 185 gms and measuring 143 × 69.9 × 86.5 mm, the GN5001S also runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, but comes in black and gold color options.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the unlocked units of the HTC One M8 smartphone is ready to roll out in the US. This was revealed by the company’s VP of Product Management Mo Versi on Twitter.

When asked about the Marshmallow update for the One M9, he replied that the update is being readied, and should be arriving soon. It’s worth mentioning that HTC had previously said that both One M8 and One M9 devices in the US will receive the update before the end of the year.
As for the carrier versions of the M8, Versi said the Taiwanese company is “working with all of them closely” to get the update out “as soon as possible.”
