Gold Samsung Galaxy Note5 is finally available at Verizon and AT&T

A couple of weeks or so ago, T-Mobile started selling the gold variation of the Samsung Galaxy Note5. And today its two biggest competitors have finally followed suit.

Both AT&T and Verizon are now offering the gold Galaxy Note5. While AT&T only has it with 64GB of storage, Verizon only sells it with 32GB. So keep that in mind when you compare prices.

The gold Galaxy Note5 can be had from AT&T for $349.99 with a new two-year contract, or $28 per month for 30 months using the carrier’s installment plan. The full price for the device is $839.99. At Verizon, you either pay $29 per month for two years, or shell out the full retail value of $696.

As you’d expect, the gold Note5 is identical to its differently colored siblings. It still comes with that 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen, a 16MP rear camera, a 5 MP selfie shooter, 4GB of RAM, Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset, and a 3,000 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1.1…

¿Podría volver Nokia al mundo de los smartphones? Estos renders así lo indican

Desde que Nokia cedió su licencia de fabricación de terminales a Microsoft, muchos se preguntaron en ese momento si era el fin de la compañía tal y como la conocíamos. Algo después, la firma declaró que había cedido su “marca” durante un período de dos años, y que después de este plazo, los derechos de fabricación retornarían a su dueño. Si avanzamos hasta el día de hoy, vemos que ese plazo está a punto de cumplirse.

Desde que Nokia confirmó que en algún momento volvería al mundo de la fabricación de smartphones, los rumores han sido incesantes. Recientemente, han surgido varias filtraciones que apuntan a la presentación del Nokia C1, un dispositivo que, aparentemente, está siendo desarrollado por la firma finlandesa en estos momentos y que contaría con Android y Windows 10. Hemos podido ver algunas imágenes filtradas de supuestos prototipos, aunque ninguna información ha sido confirmada por Nokia.

En un primer momento, se pensó que este dispositivo vendría con Android, tal y como previamente hicieron con la tablet de la misma marca, la Nokia N1. No obstante, han surgido diversos renders donde se puede apreciar el dispositivo con dos sistemas operativos. En una de las imágenes se muestra con la capa de personalización que Nokia tiene sobre Android mientras que en la otra se muestra con Windows 10 Mobile.

NPU (Nokia Power User), la página que filtró en un primer momento los renders, ha remarcado que no pueden asegurar la autenticidad de las imágenes, ya que fue esa la primera vez que recibieron filtraciones de esa fuenta. También hay que considerar que hoy en día no resulta muy difícil crear un montaje como el de las imágenes con algo de habilidad.

Las especificaciones principales que se rumorean para este dispositivo incluyen un panel de 5,5 pulgadas, una cantidad de RAM de 2 GB y 16 GB de almacenamiento interno. Se desconoce que fabricante de procesadores tendrá el honor de colocar su SoC en el interior del primer terminal realmente de Nokia en años, así como la cantidad de megapíxeles de la cámara o la definición de la pantalla.

De forma resumida, estamos ante un dudoso futuro terminal de las manos de Nokia, una de las compañías con más historia a sus espaldas. Sean o no sean verdad los rumores filtrados, podría ser muy interesante la idea de un terminal con Android y Windows 10, y más si viene de Nokia.

Retrica, la popular aplicación de selfies se vuelve totalmente gratuita y sin publicidad

En la actualidad hemos tomado como una costumbre el realizar prácticamente a diario múltiples fotografías utilizando la cámara delantera de nuestro terminal, o como actualmente los llamamos selfies. Lamentablemente muchos dispositivos no presumen de su cámara secundaria, y por tanto debemos recurrir a sencillas herramientas de edición en forma de aplicación o por contra aplicar algunos filtros para mejorar el resultado.

Aquí es donde la aplicación Retrica ha conseguido maravillar al público. Posee una interfaz envidiable y un funcionamiento muy sencillo a la par que útil, pero uno de sus puntos negativos para muchos de nosotros era que no podíamos obtenerla sin pasar por caja.

Para todos aquellos que en su momento y aún en la actualidad querían darle una oportunidad este es el momento, ya que a partir de ahora los desarrolladores han querido llegar a más dispositivos liberando por completo la publicidad y eliminando también su coste.

Retrica, desde ahora gratuita y libre para todos

Por otra parte cabe decir que, al igual que la aplicación se ha vuelto gratuita y sin publicidad, todos los usuarios nuevos o veteranos podemos disfrutar de todo el pack completo de filtros disponibles para retocar a nuestro completo antojo los selfies que vamos tomando a lo largo de nuestra jornada.

Esto no es la primera vez que sucede en este entorno, ya que si echamos la vista atrás podemos recordar con total claridad como otras aplicaciones igual o más conocidas como SwiftKey Keyboard también optaron por la misma opción, y como es obvio esto expandirá sus horizontes y crecerán de forma significativa.

Un aspecto que puede generar cierta molestia por los usuarios es el haber pagado por esta aplicación y que, hace más o menos tiempo, se vuelva gratuita y puedas decir sin reparo que has perdido dinero apostando por ella y ahora disfrutar de este movimiento. No obstante, esperemos que los desarrolladores sepan compensar a los usuarios que en su momento sí quisieron pagar por ella y aportar algo al respecto.

Here Is The Reason Behind Salesforce’s Unabated Growth

Leading customer relationship management software vendor Salesforce.com continued its relentless streak of strong revenue growth in the third quarter of fiscal 2016. (Fiscal years end with January.) We have reflected on the recently reported quarter at length and offer the following analysis. Salesforce’s farsightedness in expanding its portfolio beyond CRM has paid off in a big way. The unabated growth can be attributed to the success of its products even outside the CRM category, which has long been dominated by Salesforce. Until last year, the Sales Cloud accounted for over half of the company’s total revenues. This status quo is now changing rapidly with the Service Cloud outperforming the other divisions by a wide margin. It is set to catch up to the Sales Cloud gradually.

VMware Shareholders Unhappy With Virtustream Cloud Joint Venture With EMC

VMware’s stock has plummeted by about 25% in over a month following the announcement of the Dell-EMC deal. There have been a few points of concern for VMware’s shareholders since the deal was announced. EMC initially had an 80% stake in VMware, with 97% of voting rights. With Dell acquiring EMC, it has effectively taken the 97% voting rights but floated over 50% of VMware?s stock as “tracking stock” with no voting rights. Under the conditions of the deal, Dell would have a 28% stake in VMware with 97% voting rights, while existing VMware shareholders retain the 20% ownership with 3% voting rights, and over 50% ownership lies with former EMC shareholders in the form of tracking stock and no voting rights.
