OnePlus X Ceramic limited edition lands on November 24

The OnePlus X may already be available (if you have an invite at least), but only in one of its two versions. So far we’ve only seen the glass variation of the phone hitting the streets, but at its launch OnePlus also promised a much more exclusive ceramic edition of the X.

And thanks to an announcement today, we now know that this should become available on November 24, which is next Tuesday. It’s still unclear how you’ll be able to purchase one, but it’s safe to assume that you will need an invite, this being OnePlus and all.

The Ceramic edition of the OnePlus X will cost £269 or €369 depending on where you are. Do note however that this version of the phone will not be sold in North America. Only 10,000 units will be made, so it might not be available for long.

The limited run of this model has to do with how much time it takes to turn “exquisite zirconia” from Australia into the OnePlus X Ceramic. It’s a 25-day process, believe it or not, that among many other things involves baking the zirconia at a temperature of 1,480 degrees Celsius for 28 hours.

Other than what it’s made from, this OnePlus X is identical to its glass-clad sibling. So it has the same 5-inch 1080p touchscreen, 13 MP rear camera, 8 MP selfie snapper, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, dual-SIM functionality, 4G LTE, and 2,525 mAh battery. It runs Android 5.1.1…

HTC announces its Black Friday, Cyber Monday deals

HTC has been getting into the holiday spirit by offering Hot Deals every Tuesday. If you still havn’t been tempted to buy anything from the company’s website, HTC is hoping that its upcoming deals around Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be compelling enough to help you part with at least some of your hard-earned cash.

First up is the HTC One A9. Without a contract, the phone sells for $499, but HTC is willing to hand over its new smartphone for free if you have a qualifying iPhone that you’ll part with. If you buy the One A9 on HTC’s site between November 26 and December 2, HTC will offer you a nice rebate that will vary based on the phone you trade in.

  • Trade in an iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s Plus for a $499.99 rebate (full price of the HTC One A9)
  • Trade in a Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge for a $200 rebate
  • Trade in a LG G3 or G4 for a $100 rebate

HTC is also offering incredible savings on the HTC One M9, Nexus 9, HTC RE and all accessories that are available on its site. The dates for these deals are all over the board, so we recommend creating a calendar reminder to make sure that you don’t miss the deal that’s best for you.

  • 40% off all Nexus 9 models: Thursday, November 26 – Friday, November 27 (free Logitech Keyboard for the first 500 customers who buy the 32GB LTE model)
  • 40% off all accessories: Saturday, November 28 – Sunday, November 29
  • 60% off RE camera: Monday, November 30 – Wednesday, December 2 (first 900 units come with a free RE Protection Pack with your RE Camera)
  • 40% off HTC One M9: Monday, November 30 – Wednesday, December 2

As with all holiday sales, the offers listed are only valid while supplies last. We’re hoping that HTC has plenty of supply to go around, but we recommend setting an alarm clock and hitting HTC’s site first thing on in the morning to ensure you can take advantage of these ridiculously low prices.

iPhone 7 might come with 3GB of RAM and waterproofing

Sure, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are only a couple of months old at this point, but we’re already starting to hear rumors and predictions regarding their successors.

One such report came out from research company TrendForce. It says two things will stand out in the next generation of iPhones: 3GB of RAM and waterproofing. These are supposed to be the defining new features of the next iPhones. However, it’s possible that only the iPhone 7 Plus will get its memory bumped up. On the other hand, both models should be waterproof, marking a first for Apple – though this is something quite common in the Android world, especially when it comes to Sony devices.

The same source reiterates that we’ll see a new 4-inch iPhone next year (and pegs its release in the second quarter, so from April to June), and understandably says the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be unveiled sometime during the second half of 2016. TrendForce estimates that Apple will sell 260 million iPhones next year, 12.5% more than in 2015. It won’t, however, manage to take the smartphone sales crown from Samsung, which is expected to move around 310 million units.

Xiaomi smartwatch rumored to be outed at November 24 event too

We already know that Xiaomi plans on unveiling both the Redmi Note 2 Pro smartphone and the Mi Pad 2 tablet at its big event on November 24. That’s because the Chinese company itself has already teased these devices.

Now though it turns out that there may be (at least) a third product starring in Xiaomi’s show: a smartwatch. According to a leakster based in China, the company will also present a Mi watch at that event. This would be Xiaomi’s first smartwatch, following two iterations of the very successful Mi Band fitness tracker.

Sadly no other details have been outed just yet, but we’re mere days away from the event anyway. So we’re bound to find out if this rumor’s been true pretty soon.
