To follow up on the original 7-inch Ellipsis from 2013, Verizon has today unveiled a new own-brand tablet called Ellipsis 10.
As its name states, this is a 10-inch tablet, and it runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. It has 1,920×1,200 resolution, a 5 MP rear camera, a 2 MP front-facing unit, a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor, “angular firing stereo speakers”, 16GB of expandable storage, 4G LTE support (XLTE ready), and a huge 9,100 mAh battery.
You can already buy the Ellipsis 10 from Verizon for $199.99 with a new two-year contract or $299.99 all-in. Alternatively, you can choose the carrier’s installment plan, shelling out nothing upfront and then paying 24 monthly installments of $12.49. Xiaomi announced it made top seller for the third year in a row with its handsets. It was also crowned top smartphone brand on Tmall, JD and Suning. Within the first 12 minutes of the sale, orders on Tmall surpassed CNY 100 million ($15.7 million, £10.3 million, or 14.5 million).

In some ways I feel that today’s mobile app environment is a step backwards. It harkens to the days when you needed separate PC software programs for each thing you wanted to do. Before the days of the World Wide Web, you needed separate software for each online service you wanted to visit and just about every productitivy task you could think of came with its own software.
