The iPad Pro will become available to order this Wednesday in many countries, among which will be the UK. That’s no surprise, what is quite surprising in fact is the price it’s going to have over there.
Believe it or not, so far Apple hasn’t said anything about pricing for the iPad Pro outside of the US. Stateside, the tablet starts at $799 for the 32GB Wi-Fi-only model.
That same SKU will be sold for £679 in the UK. At the current exchange rates, that’s a whopping $1,026 or 954. And that’s only the cheapest variation. If you want the 128GB tablet with 4G LTE connectivity, you’ll need to shell out £899, which is $1,358 or 1,263. In between sits the 128GB Wi-Fi-only version, which goes for $949 in the US, and will cost £799 in the UK (that’s $1,207 or 1,122).
Given what’s recently happened in the mobile world, we expect Eurozone prices to be very close to those seen in the UK, but obviously rounded up or down to nicer-looking numbers – for example, the base variant could go for 949.

Si hacemos caso a las recientemente filtradas benchmarks, parece que Samsung se está preparando para lanzar versiones actualizadas de dos de sus teléfonos de gama media, los Samsung Galaxy A3 y A5. Las nuevas versiones se caracterizarán por traer un nuevo diseño y algunas mejoras en el apartado del hardware.
Según dos listados aparecidos en la herramienta de benchmarks GFXBenching, el nuevo Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A510) parece traer un panel más grande que su antecesor, de 5,2 pulgadas, con una resolución de 1080 x 1920 píxeles. En el interior del dispositivo nos encontraremos con un procesador octa-core de la seria Exynos 7 de Samsung, todo esto combinado con una gráfica ARM Mali-T720 GPU. También tendremos 2 GB de RAM, una cámara frontal de 5 megapíxeles y otra cámara de 12 megapíxeles, pero esta vez trasera.
El Samsung Galaxy A3 (SM-A310), el modelo de gama inferior al anterior Galaxy A5, presumirá de un hardware algo más reducido que el de su hermano mayor, aunque no por ésto será menos interesante. El Galaxy A3 poseerá un panel de 4,7 pulgadas de resolución HD, un procesador quad-core Cortex-A53 Exynos 7580, 1,5 GB de RAM y las mismas cámaras de 5 y 12 megapíxeles respectivamente.
En cuanto al diseño, el altavoz parece haber sido movido a la parte inferior de los smartphones, siguiendo la línea del Galaxy S6, mientras que la cámara y el flash LED tomarán una nueva forma según lo que se ve en las imágenes. También parece que los dispositivos se caracterizarán por presumir de una trasera de cristal o de algún material con cualidades reflejantes, lo que sin duda les otorgará una apariencia mucho más premium respecto a las anteriores generaciones de estos terminales.
No está claro si los nuevos terminales tendrán incorporados sensores de huelllas, pero si Samsung pretende traer su tecnología de Samsung Pay a un rango más amplio de dispositivos en un futuro cercano, la compañía coreana podría elegir empezar con esta generación con hardware de gama media. Personalmente pienso que no incorporarán lectores de huella, puesto que Samsung pretende sacar el máximo beneficio de estos terminales con el mínimo desembolso posible en características lúdicas.
Originariamente, Samsung introdujo la serie de dispositivos Galaxy A para donar algunas de las características de su línea de terminales más premium, como los Galaxy S, a dispositivos de una gama más comedida, y parece que la segunda generación de smartphones continuarán con esta estrategia.

Windows 10 Mobile is going to make its debut powering the Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, and Lumia 550, when those devices become available this month or next. That said, many people are anxiously waiting for the latest version of Windows for smartphones to also make its way to older Lumia-branded handsets now on Windows Phone 8.1.
Before today we got a hint that updates for such devices would start sometime in December, but now we get an actual timeline to speak of too. The following information reportedly comes from Orange Poland, with the carrier having revealed two different waves of updates.
The first one will go out starting on December 14. This wave includes the Lumia 630, 635, 640, 735, and 830. Unfortunately the second wave will come much later, starting on February 1, 2016. This will bring Windows 10 to the Lumia 520, 532, 625, 720, 820, 920, 925, 930, 1020, and 1320.
Oddly enough, there’s no word on the Lumia 1520, but apparently that’s because this model was only ever sold in Poland unlocked (so this carrier has no involvement in the update process).
Of course, this timeline, even if real, and even if it won’t change, only applies to the smartphones sold by Orange in Poland. But hopefully other carriers across the world will start their update rollouts at around the same time.

Fallout 4 is, like Fallout 3 and Skyrim before it (and Oblivion and Morrowind and Daggerfall), a beast. It’s a big, sprawling mass of adventure, and I’ve sunk dozens of hours into it already. It’s Fallout — mostly for better, but also some for worse. Longtime fans know what they’re getting into with one of these games, and so, to them: go to town. Fallout 4 is more of what you love. Anyone newer, however, should be aware of a few things before starting.
