Google Play services has been updated to version 8.3 and brings along with it some major improvements. The biggest relates to signing in with a Google account. Instead of having to press multiple buttons and granting permissions, you’ll only need to select an account from now on. It’s easier and more streamlined.
Also included are updates to the app invites API and Fused Location Provider. All these changes make it easier for the developer to use these features, resulting in less code having to be written.
One important update is for Android Wear. Now, sync priority defaults to low to save battery on your Android Wear device, and developers can set high priority sync for some features. Overall, this means less syncing and less battery drain.
It’s a pretty significant update, so developers take note. Hit the source link for more details, there’s plenty more good stuff in the original blog post.
