Lenovo Yoga 700 convertible laptop is official, sales start next month
Lenovo has launched the Yoga 700 convertible laptop in 11.6″ and 14″ size options. While similar in looks, the two Yoga 700 offerings are quite different from one another, save from the 1080p resolution on their touch screens and trademark 4 working positions.
The Yoga 700 14″ is powered by a Skylake Intel Core i7 with Intel HD Graphics 520. An optional 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 940M can be added, too. The base model comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD, but you can opt in for a 256GB storage.
The laptop weighs 1.6kg with a 4-cell Li-Polymer 45Wh battery. Lenovo has equipped the Yoga 700 with 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a single USB 2.0 (also used for charging), a card reader and an HDMI-out. Stereo speakers and Wi-Fi 802.11ac round up the package.
As for the 11″ Yoga 700, it’s quite less powerful with an Intel Core m3 CPU and Intel HD Graphics 515. The smaller 40Wh battery has made it lighter at 1.1kg. The 11″ Yoga 700 comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage as standard. There’s also just a single USB 3.0 port and micro-HDMI port.
Lenovo is pricing the 11″ Yoga 700 at $649, while the larger 14″ model costs $799. Sales commence from next month.

Sony rolls out Stagefright fixes for Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact
Sony’s fix for the Stagefright vulnerability is finally rolling out to its latest Androids. The Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Dual, and the Xperia Z5 Compact are getting the release, which also enhances camera performance, and makes other improvements. The release weighs in at around 281MB, XperiaBlog reports, and it eliminates the Stagefright vulnerability on Sony’s latest devices to give early adopters

Backdrops, una excelente app para cambiar de wallpaper o fondo de pantalla todos los días
Hace poco he estado comentando las novedades de una gran aplicación para personalizar el fondo de pantalla de nuestro smartphone gracias a una rápida doble pulsación. Esta es TapDeck y casi se convierte en si, en toda una red social donde encontrar los mejores wallpapers, para así tener alguno especial que destaque en ese día en el que iremos a dar con nuestra pareja o ese viaje a Londres que esperábamos desde hace tiempo realizar.
Desde hoy mismo tenemos otra app que viene con el mismo objetivo: ofrecer los mejores wallpapers para tu teléfono Android. Esta es Backdrops y se encumbra entre la multitud de apps que tenemos para personalizar el fondo de pantalla de nuestro teléfono o tablet. Una de las mayores virtudes con las que contamos en Backdrops, y por la que se vanagloria su desarrollador, es por esa colección de fondos de pantalla tan especiales y diseñados exclusivamente para esta aplicación. Cientos de ellos en su base de datos y que han sido diseñados especialmente para nuestros dispositivos móviles, por lo que veamos que trae realmente como único esta app llamada Backdrops.
Compartiendo fondos de pantalla
Como he dicho al principio de la entrada, Backdrops tiene algo parecido a TapDeck, sobre todo en esa capacidad que ofrece para compartir fondos de pantalla entre la comunidad de usuarios. Esta app también permite cargar los que tengas diseñados por ti mismo, mientras que ellos sean realmente tuyos. Si es así, podrás verlos en la pestaña “Let’s Get Social”.
Entre varias de sus posibilidades encontraremos una característica bien destacable como es el fondo de pantalla del día, que nos sirve para conocer cual ha sido el seleccionado de entre los wallpapers que ha compartido la comunidad. Esto nos lleva ante la tesitura de poder ponernos en contacto con el desarrollador de la aplicación para que podamos aparecer en algún momento en esa categoría de wallpaper del día.
Para que tampoco pasemos ante uno que nos guste en el momento, pero lo queramos para un momento posterior, tenemos la opción de asignar favoritos. De esta forma podremos ir eligiendo entre los mejores que hayamos visto desde esta app.
Backdrops está de forma gratuita desde la Play Store. Tiene una versión pro que elimina la publicidad que pueda ser vista en la gratuita, aparte de ofrecer la posibilidad de acceder a la colección Pro de wallpapers.
Tapdeck, la mejor alternativa
Si ya Backdrops nos ha gustado, Tapdeck es otra que es una maravilla para aquel que le guste ir cambiando de wallpapers todos los días. Wallpapers de gran calidad a lo que hace poco se sumó una característica llamada “Colecciones”.
Esta nos permite seguir a aquellas temáticas que nos interesan como puede ser arquitectura, moda o ciencia. Estos “streams” de contenido nos proveen de los suficientes wallpapers para que podamos embellecer el escritorio de la mejor forma posible. Una doble pulsación y pasarás al siguiente, y así hasta que encuentres uno acorde con el día que quieres pasar o con el estado emocional con el que te encuentres.
TapDeck cuenta ahora con unas 30 colecciones en total y la gran mayoría son de una calidad excelente en HD, por lo que si buscabas una app de este estilo tendrás con ella para rato. Aparte de que contiene un aspecto social al estilo de otras redes sociales como son Twitter. Justamente podrás seguir a otros usuarios que vayan lanzando sus wallpapers o dando a favoritos a otros tanto y así llegar a tener la mejor colección posible.
En definitiva, son dos apps que os pueden servir para seleccionar los mejores wallpapers, así que se pueden combinar perfectamente para tener una personalización de alta calidad, al menos en lo que es el escritorio. HTC ends Q3 2015 on a $139 million loss, stops future earning forecasts
HTC has released its financial results for Q3 2015 and they haven’t changed much from the grim unaudited ones outed in the beginning of October. Revenue was $660 million, almost half the $1.3 billion recorded a year ago.
Operating loss is $151 million, which is $13 million more than the company’s unaudited report suggested. In Q3 2014, the company had just $6.2 million loss.
HTC’s assets shrunk from $5.1 billion a year ago to $4.2 billion now. Finally, the company officially stated that it will no longer issue guidance for the coming quarters in order to avoid “side effects.”

‘Hunt the Truth’ Ended Up Being The Most Disappointing Aspect Of ‘Halo 5’
In case you’ve missed any of the articles I’ve written over the past few weeks, I really love Halo 5. Purely in terms of how the game plays, it’s a return to form for the series, and the most fun I’ve had with it since Halo 3.
