Weekly poll: Xperia Z5 vs iPhone 6s vs Galaxy S6 – the brawl continues

Last week we visited the big leagues for an all-out phablet battle between the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and the iPhone 6s Plus. The clash was memorable to say the least and even though the Galaxy earned itself a definitive victory, not all is lost, as this time around, we decided to take a look at the mainstream flagships from Apple and Samsung, but with an extra pitch of excitement as well – the Sony Xperia Z5.

So, the stage is set, but before you jump ahead to voting, we offer you a quick overview of the opponents, as we did make sure to weigh them out and give our two cents on the matter in the review section.

All three phones have a lot to offer and even though none of them is perfect, they are the best of what their respective OEM’s can offer. And so the real question seems to be which vision you personally find most appealing.

It could be the metal elegance of the iPhone 6s, now more powerful than ever with an interface polished to perfection, trendy 3D touch technology and upgraded camera experience, building on the strengths of its predecessor.

Then there is the Galaxy S6, designed with more elegance in mind, while still preserving its powerhouse Android nature, superb multimedia experience with vivid AMOLED colors and excellent camera quality.

Last, but definitely not least, the latest and greatest Sony has to offer might be up your alley. It offers a familiar clean design, yet even more refined, a quality built that’s not afraid of a few splashes here and there and an equally impressive camera, immersive front-facing speakers and even a microSD slot for storage on the cheap.

Google podría estar preparando una gran actualización para su aplicación Keep

Para muchos, disponer de una aplicación para redactar notas, listas y recordatorios que sirven como una alarma es un esencial e indispensable en nuestra vida cotidiana. Bien sabemos que los principales exponentes en Android no son otros que Evernote, Todoist, entre muchos otros con mayor o menor funcionalidad como Google Keep.

En el caso de la aplicación de Google, esta misma semana ha recibido una actualización menor que introduce algunos cambios menores y ligeras correcciones en su rendimiento y estabilidad, nada fuera de lo habitual. Sin embargo, los chicos de AndroidPolice han indagado en el código del último archivo APK y han encontrado un buen listado de novedades aún no presentes, por lo que significa que se avecina una gran actualización.

Más funcionalidad y diseño podría llegar a Keep

Bien sabemos que actualmente podemos importar imágenes o bien capturarlas directamente con nuestra cámara para crear un recordatorio rápido a la par que visual. Una de las próximas funciones deja entrever un modo de dibujo y anotación, en el que con una serie de herramientas como rotulador, bolígrafo o lápiz, junto al borrador podríamos resaltar o anotar directamente en las imágenes, sin pasar antes por un editor externo.

De hecho, además del código son existentes los iconos estilo Material Design con sus respectivos nombres. Estos, posiblemente sean los que se incorporarán en la que llamamos gran actualización.

Asimismo, para cada una de estas herramientas que nos permitirán dibujar tanto en las imágenes como una nota vacía, llegarían una buena paleta de colores a escoger. Podemos mencionar algunos de los 28 nuevos como el ámbar, verde aguacate, azul cobalto, cian, gris oscuro, morado, rosa, lavanda, amarillo, violeta, verde lima y rojo, muchos de ellos con variantes de color claro y oscuro.

Es posible que buena parte de ellos también se implementen para el color de las notas, las mismas que actualmente están limitadas a blanco, gris, rojo, azul, verde o naranja, por ejemplo.

En definitiva, parece que todo apunta a que Google lanzará antes o después una gran actualización para Keep, mejorando notablemente su funcionalidad y quizás el diseño para acompañar con otras aplicaciones de su catálogo un completo pack de aplicaciones con mucho más potencial para Android 6.0 Marhsmallow.
