How often do you think about the electric motors in your life? Not much, I suspect, but you’re surrounded by thousands of them. They’re in your home, moving air and water around. They’re in your car, your office building, making printers put images onto paper and elevators and garage doors go up and down. A century ago, they were a marvel of technology. Today, we barely even notice their existence, despite the fact they are everywhere. The same thing is now happening with Internet-connected smart devices and wearables.

OnePlus extends invite life to 3 days

Let’s say you’re lucky enough to snag an invite to buy a OnePlus 2, and for whatever reason, you miss using that invite to buy a phone within 24 hours. Unfortunately, your invite would now be expired. Or at least it would have been prior to today.

OnePlus has announced on Twitter today that once issued invites will be valid for 3 days now, instead of the previous 24 hours. No other details on the change have been shared at this time, but it all seems pretty straightforward.

While OnePlus has said in the Tweet announcing the change that the invite extension is just one of the ways the company wants to keep improving, using customer feedback to do so, replies are littered with speculation that today’s announcement was prompted by poor sales. With the recent release of the Moto X Pure Edition, Nexus 5X and with phones coming out all the time like the Robin, OnePlus is undoubtedly facing more competition than ever before.

Samsung Galaxy On5 y Galaxy On7 son ya oficiales en China

Si ayer nos quedamos un poco sorprendidos por esa serie On que tiene preparado Samsung para lanzarla en las próximas semanas, hoy mismo ya podemos decir que es toda una realidad ya que, aparece listada en la página oficial de fabricante coreano en China.

Dos terminales que pretenden enfrentarse a toda esa tropa de móviles que han conseguido tambalear la posición dominadora en la que se encontraba hace unos años Samsung. No voy a citarlos ya que los conocemos todos y han pasado por estas líneas en numerosas ocasiones ofreciendo calidad en el hardware, software y en el diseño. Samsung ahora quiere disponer de idénticos terminales con su sello de calidad para no exigir muchos euros a aquel usuario que quiera una gran experiencia Android. La serie On llega para quedarse por mucho tiempo por lo que parece ser.

Ya son oficiales

Samsung ha lanzado oficialmente los dos nuevos terminales de gama baja a los que ha denominado como Galaxy On5 y Galaxy On7. Los nuevos dispositivos han sido ya listados en el sitio web de Samsung en China y tal como he dicho, aunque lleguen a un precio bastante asequible cuentan con un hardware bastante decente para aproximarnos a una gran calidad en todos los sentidos cuando pasemos a utilizar su cámara, pantalla y demás hardware con el que vienen.

Galaxy On7

El Galaxy On7 tiene una pantalla de 5,5 pulgadas Super AMOLED y el On5 una de 5 pulgadas Super AMOLED. Ambos utilizan un procesador Exynos 3475 al que se le acompaña con 1,5 GB de RAM para que sean capaces de llevarse por delante a cualquier app o videojuego de esos que tenemos ya en Android ofreciendo mucha calidad.

En lo referente a la cámara trasera tampoco se quedan cortos con una de 13 MP apertura f/2.1 y una de 5 MP con f2/.2. Por lo que respecta a la memoria interna tenemos en 8 GB en los dos, pero con la capacidad de extender la memoria a través de las tarjetas microSD.

Otra de sus mejores características es en la batería, ya que el Galaxy On7 tiene una batería de 3000 mAh, mientras el Galaxy On5 baja a los 2600 mAh, perfecta para situarlos como unos smartphones que aguantarán perfectamente el día sin tener que preocuparnos si los utilizamos mucho o poco.

En lo relacionado a la versión de software tenemos a Android 5.1.1 Lollipop para un teléfono, el On7 que tiene unas dimensiones de 151,8 x 77,5 x 8,2 mm y pesa 172 gramos. Llegará instalado con Samsung Milk Music en China.

De momento desconocemos el precio oficial de estos dos nuevos smartphones que vendrán a un precio sorpresa y que se sale de lo visto anteriormente con este fabricante coreano. Algo que por cierto necesitan casi como el agua, ya que son varios los fabricantes que les han comido mucho terreno en estos últimos años, así que dos smartphones que accedan a usuarios que prefieran una pantalla de 5 o 5,5 pulgadas, buena batería, buena cámara y los demás elementos que van acorde, serán muy bienvenidos por todos.

A New LGBTQ Movement Gains Momentum, Both Online and Offline

In the past two years, the LGBTQ community in the US has had cause for celebration.  And if you live in New York and the San Francisco Bay Area, chances are you have witnessed the celebration. Still, most of the world is so far behind, it’s shocking.  Even more shocking if you consider the numbers.  In 75 countries — with a combined population of 2.8 billion people — same sex acts are illegal. In five countries, it’s punishable by death.  In other words, there are places today where love is not just illegal, but potentially lethal.

Would It Be Crazy For Microsoft To Bring ‘Halo 5’ To PC?

Halo 5: Guardians is poised to be not just the Xbox One’s biggest launch game of the year, but quite possibly the biggest game of the console’s lifespan, depending on how the next few years play out. After recovering from the disastrous launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, 343 is poised to redeem themselves with Halo 5. From everything I’ve seen and played, the game is a return to form for the series that should please fans, and better yet, it has no major PlayStation title like Uncharted 4 to run up against this fall, due to delays.
