Microsoft invited the media to New York earlier this month to unveil an array of new hardware, including the Surface Book, Surface Pro 4, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones, and the Microsoft Band 2 fitness wearable. One of the most exciting things that Microsoft announced, though, was an accessory for the Surface tablet line—the new Surface Dock.

Ex-Microsoft honcho Steve Ballmer is now Twitter’s third largest individual shareholder

Steve Ballmer, who was the chief executive officer of Microsoft for a whopping 14 years, has bought a 4% stake in Twitter. This makes him the third largest individual shareholder in the micro-blogging company, owning more than its founder and CEO Jack Dorsey.

The information was revealed by the man himself in a tweet, where he termed Twitter’s new ‘Moments’ feature as innovation, and praised Dorsey’s re-appointment as the company’s new CEO. “Good job @twitter, @twittermoments innovation, @jack Ceo, leaner, more focused,” the tweet read. “Glad I bought 4% past few months.”

Twitter’s current market value stands at $21 billion, meaning Ballmer’s stake is worth around $800 million. For those who aren’t aware, according to Forbes, Ballmer is the world’s 35th richest man with a net worth of $21.5 billion.

Motorola recently introduced their latest version of the Moto 360 smartwatch. This version made improvements over the previous generation and fixed a lot of issues. Since Motorola Mobility was acquired by Lenovo, they’ve actually been given more resources and more power to do interesting things, and that includes expanding the scope of their Moto Maker program. By expanding their Moto Maker program into smartwatches, Motorola has made a significant gamble to make smartwatches more personal. This gamble may have paid off, as Motorola has been having a hard time keeping up with demand and pre-orders.
