Microsoft lanzará la aplicación Dialer a finales de año para Android, ¡y así luce!
Microsoft, empresa que emergió gracias al “todopoderoso Bill Gates”, es hoy por hoy una de las empresas líderes en sistemas operativos de escritorio. Con bastantes años de continuo desarrollo web y mejoras de nuestra forma de vida, Microsoft ha conseguido atraer a un gran público a Windows.
Pero, como toda empresa, siempre hay una “espina”. La espina se llama Windows Phone, el cual hasta día de hoy no puede competir con Android e iOS en cuanto a usuarios activos. Pero, aún así, Microsoft no deja de lado en ningún momento su desarrollo en los sistemas. Por ello, ha creado una lista de aplicaciones algunas de mayor o menor utilidad para los clientes de Android e iOS
Ahora, y tras las aplicaciones sacadas en Google Play, Microsoft piensa lanzar al mercado una aplicación para gestionar nuestras llamadas, según la web de Microsoft News, la aplicación se está lanzando en India para ser probada, tal y como han recogido nuestros compañeros de WinPhone Metro.
Una aplicación similar a TrueCaller
TrueCaller, hoy por hoy una aplicación que mejora nuestro listín telefónico y nuestra aplicación de llamadas para hacerla más inteligente y funcional hace que puedas realizar llamadas o bloquearlas de una manera muy cómoda. Si ya era conocida por haber unido fuerzas con Cyanogenmod para convertirse en su aplicación telefónica, y tras ver cómo se ha actualizado hace nada para Windows 10 phone con muchas mejoras parece que sigue una buena senda de cara al público.
Lo mismo parece que quiere hacer Microsoft con Dialer, ya que permitirá a los usuarios buscar información acerca de los usuarios o también buscar lugares como restaurantes, estaciones o lugares de trabajo entre otros.
De manera adicional, Dialer muestra información en tiempo real sobre la persona que nos esté llamando y, por supuesto, bloquear llamadas. Esto haría muy interesante a la aplicación que cambiaría el marcador telefónico que tuviera el teléfono.
Dialer llegaría a Android a finales de año
Según los rumores, Dialer llegaría a Android a partir de la segunda semana de diciembre de 2015, por tanto, aún habría que esperar un poco para poder usarla. Aunque aún se está probando en india, aún no se sabe si su llegada será en todos los países o no. Para Windows parece que habría que esperar un poco más, hasta 2016, pare ser exactos.
La verdad es que Microsoft hace un esfuerzo para llevar sus aplicaciones a todas las plataformas, cosa que es muy agradecida por todos los usuarios. Poder usar Skype en Android o Word es un handicap excepcional para los usuarios que vengamos de Windows y necesitemos usar las aplicaciones de Microsoft en nuestros smartphones. Con Dialer, la apuesta sería buena por su parte y tendremos que esperar a la aceptación general de la gente pero, las capturas filtradas son bastante bellas por lo que el diseño no sería un problema en esta aplicación.

Verizon and Motorola teaming up for event on October 27 to announce ‘the newest DROIDs’
With October nearing its midpoint, there’s even more to look forward to in the coming days. For fans of the DROID-branded handsets from Motorola and Verizon, especially so, as the companies have just announced a date to circle on the calendar in preparation for new devices.
Motorola and Verizon are hosting an event on October 27 that will see the companies unveil “the newest DROIDs.” There’s a tagline on the invitation as well, which reads: “Everything you expect from a phone will change.” The event will kick off in New York City beginning at 11:00 AM ET, or 8:00 AM PT. It’s certainly curious to see the invitation use DROIDs, doing a pretty obvious job of suggesting that we’ll see more than one device at the event.
Then again, with rumors swirling that there is a DROID Maxx 2 and DROID Turbo 2 out there in the world, Motorola and Verizon’s wording starts to make sense.

Lenovo’s ZUK Z1 will get Android 6.0 Marshmallow next year
ZUK is a Lenovo-backed company that launched its first smartphone, the Z1, recently. This runs its own ZUI in China, while internationally it comes with Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Now that Android 6.0 Marshmallow has been officially released by Google, you may be wondering whether the ZUK Z1 will ever receive an update to this version. And the official answer, straight from ZUK co-founder Chen Yu, is yes.
ZUK itself is already working on the new Marshmallow-based ZUI, which is expected to be out by the Chinese New Year (which in 2016 falls on February 8).
On the other hand, it seems very likely that the international version of the ZUK Z1 will get Cyanogen OS 13 (based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow) when that’s ready, since this is still a pretty young phone we’re talking about. That said, the Cyanogen team has started work on Cyanogen OS 13 not long ago, so you probably shouldn’t expect it to hit the Z1 this year either.

French carrier Orange launches an HTC One A9 product page ahead of official unveiling
The HTC One A9 isn’t official yet — that should happen on October 20 — but that hasn’t stopped the French carrier Orange from unveiling the device on their own site.
Orange has recently launched a dedicated landing page for the upcoming, but still unofficial, One A9 from HTC, showcasing the device in a variety of angles and its two color options. It’s listed at €599.90, which is about $688, but there’s no telling just yet how much HTC plans on charging for the device in the United States when they get around to announcing it later this month.
The landing page does a nice job of summing up the One A9′s features, too. That includes a 5-inch display with a resolution of 1920×1080, and there’s a 13-megapixel camera on the back, with a 4-megapixel front-facing camera on the other side. It will apparently be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow under the hood, and HTC’s proprietary user interface Sense will be on board, too.
Rumors round out the rest of the features, which aren’t present on the landing page: 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor. The battery is said to be measured in at 2150mAh.

Healthcare’s Latest Game Changer: Medicare’s Comprehensive Care Joint Replacement (CCJR) Program
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ (CMS’s) recently announced the Comprehensive Care Joint Replacement Program –the CCJR– is a five-year payment initiative that aims to bundle all inpatient and outpatient payments for patients who have lower-extremity joint replacement surgeries. The idea is to establish a payment arrangement that accounts for the cost of an entire episode of care. It’s a risk/reward arrangement viewed as a sign of the times, if not the future, as it reveals how CMS and other payers will likely reimburse for most major procedures going forward.
