Samsung has teased its upcoming Galaxy View tablet last month during its IFA event. This is going to be the company’s biggest mobile device yet, as it’s so far been rumored to sport a whopping 18.4-inch touchscreen. That is, if the Galaxy View turns out to be the tablet with the model number SM-T670.
Today the T670 was spotted at GFXBench, which means that its specs have once again been confirmed, through the benchmark’s info listing.
The device apparently has an 18.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 2 MP front camera, no rear camera, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and it’s powered by an unidentified Samsung Exynos 7 Octa chipset. This comes with a CPU sporting four Cortex-A57 cores and four Cortex-A53 cores, and the maximum clock speed seems to be 1.6 GHz. The GPU is a Mali-T720. The prototype that’s been benchmarked was running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop at the time.
The lack of a rear camera seems surprising at first, but imagine how odd it would be to actually take pictures with an 18-inch tablet. The Galaxy View will allegedly be targeted at businesses and the education market, as well as consumers – in this case as a device for the living room. Since the Galaxy View has recently been Bluetooth certified, it should be announced soon.

Yesterday brought us the announcement of the LG V10, a new device that features a secondary display above the main display. LG initially said that the device would be coming to Korea, but this morning, the company has revealed that the V10 will also be coming stateside on Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile. The downside is that neither LG nor any of the three carriers have spoken on pricing or launch details, so we’re still in the dark on those matters.
The secondary ticker display on the LG V10 is a small 2.1-inch display that has a number of different uses. You can use it to display info like battery life, weather and time or you could use it for different features, such as a dock for app shortcuts or a hub for alerts. Another interesting feature of the LG V10 is that it packs in two front-facing cameras, which can be used together to create a 180-degree wide-angle picture. All in all, it looks to be an interesting device.

Cuando empezó el mercado de los smartphones, con el primer iPhone y el primer teléfono Android, si querías un terminal con unas prestaciones que estuvieran a la última y te ofrecieran las máximas prestaciones de la época, tenías que gastarte un dineral (menos dinero del que cuesta ahora un smartphone gama alta, pero igualmente era una gran cantidad de dinero).
En la actualidad todavía existen terminales denominados “de gama alta” ya que ofrecen, al igual que los anteriores nombrados, unas prestaciones de última tecnología. Este precio puede resultar excesivo, pero, actualmente, hay un gran número de industrias (sobre todo chinas) que ofrecen terminales con componentes de última tecnología a un precio más ajustado.
Si quieres un terminal de gama alta a un precio lo más reducido posible, la mejor opción es buscar un terminal chino. Hay muchas marcas que ofrecen una gran variedad, unos con mejores prestaciones que otros, pero dentro del rango de la gama más alta.
Un ejemplo de terminal chino con un rendimiento extraordinario, sería el nuevo Meizu Pro 5. Este smartphone tiene el mismo procesador que el Samsung Galaxy S6, un sensor de cámara fabricado por Sony, 3 o 4 GB de RAM, sensor de huellas dactilares y todo lo demás que vemos habitualmente en los teléfonos de gama alta. Su precio es de lo más alto que vamos a encontrar en cuanto a terminales chinos: 439 dólares la versión de 3 GB y 486 dólares la versión de 4GB. Si queréis potencia y prestaciones elevadas sin importar excederos un poco en el precio, este es vuestro smartphone.
Otro terminal con prestaciones elevadas y con un precio relativamente elevado también, es el OnePlus 2, con un precio de 339€ la versión de 16 GB y 3 GB de RAM y 399 € la versión de 64 GB y 4 GB de RAM. El precio es un tanto elevado, ya que no hay nada en lo que destaque, además de su gran rendimiento.
Luego tenemos otra categoría en la que situamos a terminales como el Elephone P8000 y el Ulefone Be Touch 2, ya que son móviles con prestaciones de gama alta, pero no tan alta como el resto. Los dos terminales comparten la misma memoria RAM (3 GB), mismo almacenamiento (16 GB ampliables con tarjeta SD) y misma pantalla (Full HD de 5,5 pulgadas). También tienen cámaras similares, de 13 y 5 megapíxeles. Además, el procesador también es muy similar, lo que tal vez los diferencie es la capacidad de las baterías, ya que el Ulefone tiene 3050 mAh y el Elephone 4000 mAh. Lógicamente, el precio de ambos también es similar, los dos se sitúan por debajo de los 200 euros.
Finalmente hay otros terminales chinos que surgieron hace poco, como el Xiaomi Mi 4c con un precio que ronda los 200 euros y que ofrece prestaciones similares a los dos móviles de antes.
Si no estás muy familiarizado con los terminales chinos, una buena idea sería adquirir un gama media de marcas más conocidas como Motorola o Sony. Unos buenos modelos pueden ser el Sony Xperia M4 aqua o el Motorola Moto G.
Otra alternativa es comprar un terminal de gama alta de años anteriores, que aunque no tengas la última tecnología, gozarás de características de gran calidad a un precio más reducido debido a su devaluación gracias a los nuevos buques insignia.
En resumen, dependiendo del dinero que tengáis a vuestra disposición y las necesidades que vayáis a tener que cubrir, deberéis decantaros por unos o por otros. Si queréis altas prestaciones sin importar gastar un dinero extra, optad por el primer grupo y sino ya elegid entre el resto.
