Cada compañía prioriza sus servicios en sus plataformas, sí, pero hacía mucha falta que Microsoft hiciera un cambio importante a su aplicación de mensajería instantánea Skype.
Aunque aún tiene delante duros rivales en su mismo sector de la comunicación como WhatsApp o Telegram, Skype con su última actualización obtiene aún más potencial si cabe y añade las ansiadas lineas Material Design al completo y que tanta falta le hacía.
Desde estos momentos en la mismísima tienda de aplicaciones Google Play, Skype está disponible mediante actualización o descarga habitual en su más reciente versión 6.0, que trae novedades tanto en su diseño como en funcionalidad.
El primero y más destacado es la nueva interfaz, manteniendo ese agradable color azul de la aplicación aunque mucho más integrado y sin perder la esencia de los iconos. Además, incluye el botón de acción en la parte inferior derecha que, una vez pulsado abrirá un desplegable mostrando opciones como vídeo llamada, llamada de voz, vídeo mensaje o el clásico chat.
Por otro lado, la búsqueda y notificación de los mensajes u otras alertas recibidas de los chats ahora se muestran de una forma más clara y es más sencillo y accesible, facilitando la interacción y agilizando toda la interfaz en sí. Muy necesario para todos.
En lo general es una actualización de rediseño puro y duro, adaptándose a unos nuevos tiempos con Material Design impuesto por Google y unas pautas a seguir, que poco a poco y día tras día siguen más desarrolladores. Como bien dicen, una aplicación en constante desarrollo para hacerla más fácil y mejor.

This year Samsung couldn’t wait until September for its customary IFA phablet announcement and the Galaxy Note5 got an early launch last month, joined by the Galaxy S6 edge+. Being a no-show at the expo was out of the question, though, and the Koreans kept the Gear S2 smartwatch to entertain the audience in Berlin, though it too was already made official a couple of days ago.
The next-generation wearable will come in two variants – the plain, outdoorsy one dubbed simply Gear S2, and the more formally styled Gear S2 classic. Both of them circular and water resistant, the watches pack a 1.2-inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHZ dual-core processor and half a gig of RAM. The watch witnesses Samsung’s continued adoption of its own Tizen OS, while competitors are all using Android Wear.
Having an entire keynote focused on a single smartwatch (ok, technically two) sounds a bit dull so we won’t be surprised to see another iteration of the Gear VR virtual reality headset. After all, the new Note5 lacks a companion in this respect. Plus, the VR Experience Zones set up around Berlin would make for nice headlines – “New Gear VR headset launched while users remotely explore Samsung’s booth in VR”. Beat that, OnePlus.
