Verizon is getting a bunch of great devices thanks to the DROID brand, apparently including ones that Motorola won’t even bring to the US itself. The Moto X Play was announced alongside the Moto X Pure and new Moto G, but it was said it will not be coming to the United States. That’s a shame, because it’s a fantastic budget option that has some beefy specs.
But thanks to HelloMotoHK, we get to see the backplate of the Motorola DROID MAXX 2. And aside from the DROID logo, it looks identical to the international Moto X Play, including the pattern on the back. Even the same white color is used.
If you’re a Verizon user that was interested in the Moto X Play, it looks like you’re in luck. The rest of us can remain disappointed. But it’s definitely interesting that Motorola doesn’t want to bring the device to the US while Verizon does. I guess Verizon has more sense than Motorola for once.

Se fue acercando cada vez más y al final lo consiguió, la compatibilidad de Raspberry Pi con Ubuntu Core es total, incluyendo compatibilidad con Buses I2C y GPIO
Los amantes de Ubuntu y los amantes de los ordenadores en miniatura Raspberry Pi estáis de enhorabuena,como habíamos ido anunciado en éste mismo blog, la gente de Canonical ha adaptado su sistema Ubuntu Core a las necesidades de estos pequeños ordenadores consiguiendo la deseada compatibilidad 100%.
Ubuntu Core es una versión de Ubuntu bastante básica, pero que conserva todas las funciones esenciales de ésta famosa distribución. Esta distribución trabaja con el gestor de paquetes Snappy, el cual sustituye al antiguo DPKG.
La razón por la cuál es 100% compatible con la Raspberry Pi es porque se ha adaptado Ubuntu Core para que reconozca perfectamente los complementos utilizados en la Raspberry, complementos que van por el BUS I2C y con el pin de entrada y salida GPIO, que permiten incluir numerosos accesorios como una cámara o una pantalla LCD entre otros.
Además la Raspberry Pi será compatible al igual que los sistemas de escritorio, con todos los paquetes de Snappy, incluyendo paquetes nuevos creados exclusivamente para la Raspberry Pi, lo que es un gran avance.
Cada vez más personas se apuntan a la moda de la Raspberry Pi, ya que es un sistema multifunción, pequeño, modificable y a un precio ridículo(unos 50 euros), lo cual lo hace muy atractivo. La compatibilidad 100% con Ubuntu hace preever que aumente la demanda de éstos pequeños ordenadores aún más si cabe.
Con esta medida, Canonical se retracta de sus decisiones del pasado en las cuáles no quería que Ubuntu funcionase en Raspberry Pi, aunque ya había realizado algo similar para Ubuntu Mate y que ya existían imágenes de Ubuntu Core para Raspberry Pi, nunca había llegado a éste extremo de compatibilidad, en el cual funcionen los buses I2C y el pin GPIO.Ahora parece que Canonical tratará de acercarse al mercado al cuál renunció hace un par de años, el mercado de las Raspberry Pi.
Aquí tenemos un interesante vídeo subido por gente de Ubuntu hace unos días, que muestra una Raspberry Pi 2 trabajando con el Ubuntu Core y mostrando como funciona, además muestra una nueva aplicación llamada Snappy Scope y una bonita caja naranja con el logo de Ubuntu para la Raspberry Pi así que no te pierdas el vídeo.

A couple of weeks ago we first heard that Samsung might use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset for next year’s Galaxy S7, and now a new report pretty much confirms this possibility.
According to a Korean publication, Samsung is currently busy putting the Snapdragon 820 through some very intensive testing. The results of all those tests will have a bearing in whether Samsung decides to use the Snapdragon 820 in the Galaxy S7 or not.
At the moment things seem to be going well, which means we may once again see a Samsung flagship with two SoC choices, each offered in certain markets only. This was the case for a few years, until this year when the Galaxy S6 only went with Samsung’s own Exynos chipset. The reason for that probably has something to do both with the performance of the Exynos 7420, but also with the much-publicized overheating problems that the Snapdragon 810 encounters.
Its successor, the Snapdragon 820, is set to be quite different in that regard, though, so it may once again be seen in a high-end Samsung device.

Do you have an iPhone 6 Plus that takes blurry photos? You might be eligible for a free repair. Apple said it would be replacing iPhone 6 Plus cameras that take blurry photos due to faulty hardware.
“Apple has determined that, in a small percentage of iPhone 6 Plus devices, the iSight camera has a component that may fail causing your photos to look blurry. The affected units fall into a limited serial number range and were sold primarily between September 2014 and January 2015,” said Apple on the iSight Camera Replacement Program website. “If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device’s iSight camera, free of charge.” You can find out if you are eligible for the iPhone 6 Plus replacement by entering your serial number on the iSight Camera Replacement Program website.
Apple will examine the iPhone 6 Plus to verify that it is eligible for the program. The iPhone 6 Plus has to be examined at an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider. Before you turn in your iPhone 6 Plus for the camera replacement, Apple recommended that you back up your data to iTunes or iCloud. Apple also pointed out that if your iPhone 6 Plus has damage like a cracked screen that impairs the camera replacement, then you will need to resolve that issue beforehand.

Es lunes, y como cada lunes, toca una ración de noticias Android, para ponernos al día de toda la actualidad que rodea a nuestro sistema operativo favorito en tan solo unos pocos minutos. Para no perder la costumbre, estos últimos siete días han sido un no parar en materia de novedades, rumores, y filtraciones, una combinación que es la salsa picante del mundo tecnológico.

HTC is now running a new promotion hoping to convince as many people as possible to buy its One M9 smartphone. This time around we’re not talking about a price reduction per se, though the Taiwanese company is basically giving away $100 for every purchase of its flagship product.
Here’s how it works. If you buy a One M9 in the US, and you get it directly from HTC, then you’ll receive $100 in Google Play credit for free. You can spend that on anything you want in Google’s store.
The offer is valid for devices purchased before the end of November, and you’ll have to redeem your credit by the end of the year. Oh, and you need to spend the $100 you get before December 31, 2016. That’s it, there are no other caveats. If you’re a big spender in the Play Store, then this could turn out to be quite useful.
