Steam Accounts Hijacked Via Huge Security Loophole — Valve Responds

Over the past week, hackers were able to utilize a security loophole in PC game service Steam to hijack other users accounts, leading to stolen accounts and Valve scrambling to plug the hole. The problem appears to be fixed now, but Valve had to take the Steam store temporarily offline to implement the fix. Steam has an excellent reputation as far as security goes, and that makes something like this all the more important for the dominant service in PC gaming.

The PS4 Is Getting Its Own Mouse And Keyboard (But Not From Sony)

Microsoft made news last week when they announced that they were working to ensure that the Xbox One had full mouse and keyboard support soon enough. The idea is that the functionality is needed in order to effectively implement PC to Xbox One streaming of computer games, where currently only Xbox One to PC streaming of Xbox games will work with the launch of Windows 10.

Te enseñamos cómo ver en directo la presentación del OnePlus 2

El día ha llegado; hoy es la presentación del nuevo flagship killer de 2015, el OnePlus 2. Lo cierto es que prácticamente conocemos la totalidad de sus detalles mediante la enorme cantidad de filtraciones, tanto oficiales como no, y no hay mucho margen de sorpresa. Tanto es así, que podemos detallar la distinta información que hemos ido publicando a lo largo de las últimas semanas, como su nuevo sistema de invitaciones, los resultados de rendimiento basándonos en la herramienta AnTuTu y su puntuación y lo más importante, sus especificaciones y aspecto físico filtrado por TEENA.

Aún así, no hay porqué perderse su presentación, en el que la firma ha optado por hacerlo un tanto especial y nos invita a visualizarlo en directo mediante una aplicación que han publicado en Google Play, que además de la forma tradicional, podrá verse con gafas de realidad virtual –en el caso de dispongas de unas– si así lo deseas.

¿Cómo puedo ver el evento en directo del OnePlus 2?

Todo es muy sencillo y sin ninguna complicación. Debes acceder y descargar la aplicación gratuita OnePlus Launch en Google Play.

Una vez instalada, si procedes a ejecutarla se mostrará una sencilla presentación de la aplicación y te detallará la hora con la que podrás disfrutar del evento en tu país o región. A continuación, podéis observar cuales son los vuestros:

Exclusive: Galaxy Note 5 is using Exynos 7422, 4GB of RAM after all

There's been a lot of speculation recently regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and its hardware in particular. We've seen more and more contradictory bits of information as we get closer to the handset's rumored unveiling date in mid-August, but today we may be able to clear up some confusions.

Thanks to an anonymous tipster, we have received a screenshot of the system info tab in CPU-Z running on a Note 5. You can see this to the left.

The phone in question is a prototype of the international version, which will have the model number SM-N920F. This iteration of the next Galaxy Note will indeed come sporting Samsung's own Exynos 7422 chipset, as has been rumored before.

This has been said to be an improved version of the Exynos 7420 found in the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge. Furthermore, it should be the first Samsung-made silicon to feature the modem on the same chip as the CPU and GPU.

Once again, it's confirmed that the Note 5 will have 4GB of RAM. It's also going to have 32GB of built-in storage in this version, though it's still unclear if a microSD card slot will be in there too.

Finally, it looks like the screen size and resolution will be kept identical to those of the phablet's predecessor, the Galaxy Note 4. That said, the Note 5's 5.7-inch QHD panel will surely receive some upgraded tech, as Samsung has done each year in the Note line.

At the moment, the prototype in question is running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, which is the latest version Google has released so far. There's no reason to think the Note 5 will launch running anything else. Obviously though, expect to see Samsung's TouchWiz UI plastered on top, probably in a similarly toned down fashion to what happened for the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge earlier this year.

OnePlus 2 poses for several high-quality photos hours before its official debut

Just hours before the OnePlus 2 officially makes its debut, it appears that a leaker has spoiled part of OnePlus’s announcement.

Several high-quality photos of the OnePlus 2 have been posted to the XDA-developers forums by user “chinaleakking.” They claim to be a beta test that’s had the OnePlus 2 for “a few week,” and they share some of their early impressions of the device too. For example, the OnePlus 2 is said to “feel good in hands,” but it’s fingerprint reader is described as being “not quite sensitive.”

The images show off just about every corner of the OnePlus 2. The back of the phone has a new camera housing with the sensor itself (which chinaleakking says is not a Sony sensor), as well as a flash and another mysterious sensor. Around front is the OnePlus 2’s display and fingerprint reader, and the bottom holds a USB Type-C port and some new-look speaker holes. Finally, the sides of the phone have a volume rocker, power/lock key, and a mysterious switch or button. Perhaps a mute switch?

The OnePlus 2 will make its official debut during an event that starts at 7:00 pm PST tonight. It’ll have features like a Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 3300mAh battery, and a 13-megapixel sensor. And while we’ve gotten a good look at the phone’s design this afternoon, we’ll have to actually spend some hands-on time with the phone before making any judgments about its looks or performance.

Anunciado el HTC Desire 626 con Android 5.1 Lollipop y memoria ampliable hasta 512 GB

HTC sigue sacando partido de su mítica familia Desire, y ahora nos acaba de anunciar la llegada a España del nuevo HTC Desire 626. Aunque quizás deberíamos retirar lo de nuevo, pues se trata de un smartphone presentado en Taiwán el pasado mes de febrero, y que desde marzo está disponible para comprar en varios mercados. Como decimos, la compañía ha anunciado ahora su desembarco en España, aunque para ello todavía tendremos que esperar un poco más si cabe.

El HTC Desire 626 se presentaba en su momento como un rival directo del Motorola Moto G 2014, el rey de la gama media, y lo hacía con características por el estilo, aunque quizás un pequeño paso por encima. En la siguiente tabla podéis ver todas las especificaciones técnicas de este HTC Desire 626:

Se trata, como vemos, de un digno representante para la gama media, haciendo uso del más que solvente Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, en esta ocasión apoyado sobre 2 GB de memoria RAM (existe un modelo con MediaTek y 1 GB de RAM que no llegará a España). Destaca también su pantalla HD con tecnología Super LCD 2, y su cámara principal, con sensor BSI de 13 megapíxeles.

Además, el diseño sigue los mismos patrones que los últimos teléfonos de la empres, y a simple vista destaca sus dos altavoces frontales, bastante llamativo, así como su cámara delantera, que se queda en 5 megapíxeles. También es interesante le hecho de que su memoria de almacenamiento, de 16 GB, puede ser ampliada mediante tarjetas microSD de hasta 512 GB, ahí es nada. Por tanto, todas estas características lo convierten en un buen terminal sobre todo para consumir multimedia.

Precio y disponibilidad

No será hasta el mes de octubre cuando podamos probar este nuevo HTC Desire 626, y como suele ser habitual, por el momento se desconoce su precio, con lo que habrá que esperar hasta su puesta en marcha para conocerlo. Sabiendo cómo juega la taiwanesa en este terreno, probablemente no será un precio demasiado económico. Estará disponible tanto en operadores móviles como en las principales tiendas distribuidoras.

Are we capable of thinking about longer-term issues, or, like the lobster in a pot full of water that’s being brought slowly to the boil, will we fail to realize the danger we’re in until it’s too late? We’re supposed to be smarter than lobsters. We’ve committed some very stupid acts over the course of our history, but our stupidity isn’t inevitable.
