Vivo set to announce something important today

Vivo has revealed that it will make an important announcement today. The revelation was made via the Chinese company's official Weibo page.

While there was no official word on what the announcement will be, it would be safe to assume that it will be related to Vivo's upcoming X5Pro smartphone – speculations are rife that the company will reveal the launch date of the device, which was recently spotted in a listing at TENAA (China's FCC) and had its specifications revealed.

This, interestingly, comes just over a week after there were reports that the smartphone, which is expected to come with 2.5D glass screen and eye recognition technology, will launch on May 7…

Android M será anunciado en Google I/O 2015

Nos hemos pasado todo el año con Android Lollipop aquí y allá con todas sus novedades, los dispositivos que lo recibirán, las nuevas funcionalidades, Material Design por todas partes y los dispositivos Nexus los primeros en recibirlo, para que en este mes ya conozcamos a Android M.

La programación oficial de la conferencia para desarrolladores Google I/O ha estado presente de manera online desde hace bien poco y desde la misma se puede acceder a los eventos que se celebrarán en esos días. En uno de los eventos denominados como “Android for Work” se ha hecho una mención directa a lo que sería la nueva versión Android M que haría su aparición al igual que lo hizo Android Lollipop el año pasado.

Android for Work

Normalmente Google utiliza esta sesión “What’s New in Android” para mencionar todo lo nuevo que llevará incorporado la nueva y mayor versión de Android. Y mientras que el año pasado se cambió la política de actualizaciones al tener preparada una versión previa de Lollipop y en estos momentos solamente el 10% de los usuarios tienen la 5.0 en sus dispositivos, Google sigue mirando hacia delante con lo nuevo para Android.

Android M

La versión previa de Android fue lanzada en Google I/O 2014 para que los desarrolladores tuvieran el tiempo necesario para poder ir preparando sus aplicaciones a lo acontecido en el patrón de diseño Material Design para que en otoño todo estuviera listo para el lanzamiento final de Lollipop. Un Lollipop que ha sido la mayor actualización a Android y que por lo tanto también ha sido una de las más difíciles para Google ya que ha tenido que ir lanzando distintas actualizaciones para solucionar los distintos problemas que aparecieron con tantas novedades.

Como esta vez no esperamos tantas novedades, Android M podría tener una mayor relevancia con novedades relacionadas con Android for Work o para crear el espacio necesario en el dispositivo para los profesiones y los momentos en que el usuario se encuentre en la oficina.

Huawei said to launch Honor 4C and Honor Bee in India tomorrow

Looks like Huawei's Honor 4C smartphone, which was launched in China last week, will make its way to other markets as well. According to a report from FoneArena, the budget smartphone will be launched in India tomorrow (May 8). It is expected to set you back INR 8,999 ($141).

As for the specs, the handset is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 620 chipset with 1.2 GHz octa-core processor, and features a 5-inch 720p display. It has 2GB RAM and 8GB expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2550mAh battery. Camera-wise, the device sports a 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat with EM UI 3.0 skin on top.

Aside from the Honor 4C, Huawei will also launch another budget device, the Honor Bee, at the event, the report notes. It is expected to carry a price tag of INR 4,999 ($78).

Perhaps the safest way to keep teen drivers safe is to not let them drive at all. We’re quite a ways off from that (perhaps kids being born today might see fully autonomous cars before their teenage years are out), so the concept of “parental controls” in automobiles is here to stay.
