Apple will begin shipping its smartwatch in April. Tim Cook, the Cupertino giant’s CEO, confirmed the news during today’s quarterly earnings call.

Apple Watch on track to ship in April, CEO Tim Cook says
During Apple’s quarterly conference call on Tuesday, CEO Tim Cook said Apple Watch development is on track and expects to launch the device in April, coming in just under the company’s “early 2015” promise.
Apple announced a record-breaking 74.5 million iPhone units during the first quarter of the fiscal 2015 that ended on December 27. The Cupertino giant posted a record-shattering quarterly revenue and net profit of $74.6 billion and $18 billion respectively.
The financial results amount to a net profit of $3.06 per share. The numbers show a staggering 30% increase over the same quarter last year. The latter ended with $57.6 billion of revenue and net profit of $13.1 billion ($2.07 per share).
At 21.4 million, Apple iPad sales came in slightly lower than expected (21.5 million). The company moved 26 million slates for the same period a year ago.
The iPhone sales were not the only reason for the record performance. Apple posted “all-time record revenue” from Mac (5.2 million sold) and App Store transactions. The company didn’t mention iPod sales this time around.
Going forward, Apple expects between $52 billion and $55 billion of revenue during next quarter. The company’s board of directors declared a cash dividend of $.47 per share for the quarter it just reported.

Según leemos en Android Central, los japoneses planean recortar otros 1.000 empleos, que se sumarían a los 1.000 empleos eliminados durante el pasado año 2014.
Por lo tanto, la división de móviles de Sony se reducirá en un 30%, acabando el año fiscal en marzo de 2016 con una cifra de 5.000. Esta reducción sería parte de un intento de reestructuración para evitar “males mayores”, males que podrían desembocar en medidas tan drásticas como la venta de dicha división o hasta su posible desaparición.
Los despidos afectarán principalmente a Europa y China, ya que la “poderosa” marca japonesa se ha visto impotente ante el feroz crecimiento de firmas como Xiaomi, la cual se ha convertido en un fuerte competidor al ofrecer dispositivos con un rendimiento increíble a precios muy contenidos.
Sony necesita reinventarse, empezar de nuevo y ofrecer dispositivos en todas las gamas –baja y media sobre todo– que realmente atraigan al usuario. De nada les sirve tener unos tope de gama que realmente merezcan la pena, si luego cuando acudimos a las demás gamas, tenemos terminales que son vapuleados en todos los sentidos por la competencia.

Today Apple has released the latest software updates for both its mobile and computer operating systems.
iOS 8.1.3 is now rolling out with a handful of bug fixes in tow. Perhaps the most important thing that it changes is the amount of space you need on your iPhone or iPad to be free before you perform such an update.
This should ensure that more people will be able to seamlessly stay up to date in the future. Many were unable to make the jump to iOS 8 specifically because of this issue, while others had to pretty much delete everything on their devices to perform the procedure. Obviously, phones with 8GB of storage were most affected, but devices with 16GB of space weren't immune either.
The iOS 8.1.3 update comes in at around 250MB on an iPhone 6, but the exact size of the update will vary depending on device. It also fixes a problem with entering the Apple ID password in Messages and FaceTime, addresses an issue with Spotlight, and one that prevented multitasking gestures from working on iPads.
At the same time, Apple has made Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 available. This is also primarily a bug fixing release, so there's just one small new feature tow – namely, the ability to browse iCloud Drive in Time Machine has been added.
This update is expected to fix quite a few issues, from Wi-Fi disconnects to Web pages loading slowly, to unexpectedly having languages switched. The newest version of Mac OS also addresses some problems with Spotlight, VoiceOver speech performance, and Safari stability and security. Audio and video sync when using Bluetooth headphones has been improved too.

Características y especificaciones técnicas
Como decíamos, se trata de una evolución con pocos cambios a simple vista, pues su aspecto exterior es muy similar al del Xiaomi Red Rice, algo que no nos ha gustado demasiado, pues esperábamos un rediseño importante. Al menos han conseguido reducir el peso total, a pesar de que cuenta con el mismo tamaño de pantalla, 4,7 pulgadas, también con resolución HD.
Los parecidos prácticamente se quedan ahí, y es que el nuevo Xiaomi Redmi 2 hace uso de un chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 de 64 bits, que como sabéis, se está convirtiendo en la solución perfecta para los actuales gama media y media-baja, por ofrecer un rendimiento más que aceptable para el usuario medio. En esta ocasión está apoyado sobre 1 GB de memoria RAM, aunque la firma china ya ha hecho oficial una nueva versión con 2 GB, y también con el doble de almacenamiento, que en el terminal que hemos analizado, es de 8 GB, ampliables vía microSD.
Cabe destacar también que es bastante completo en el apartado de conectividad, incluyendo conexión LTE, aunque sin embargo, no soporta la banda 800 MHz. Por el resto, encontramos cámaras de 8 y 2 megapíxeles, y por supuesto, MIUI como software en su versión 6, corriendo sobre Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

En conclusión, el Xiaomi Redmi 2 es un smartphone totalmente recomendable, y es que ofrece un buen rendimiento tanto por su hardware como por su software, además de una buena calidad fotográfica, y todo ello, a un precio realmente competitivo.
Puntos positivos
Cámara: Lo más recurrente es recortar gastos en la calidad fotográfica, pero en esta ocasión no ha sido así, pues hemos obtenido buenos resultados y además, el la app de cámara ofrece una buena experiencia de usuario.
Audio: A pesar de su ubicación, el sonido es bastante bueno, con un volumen máximo más que correcto.
Software: Gran trabajo el que Xiaomi sigue haciendo con su capa MIUI, que está muy bien implementada y optimizada, y encima cuenta con una gran comunidad a sus espaldas.
Puntos negativos
Aspecto físico: Apenas existen novedades respecto al modelo original. No hubiera estado de más un toque más moderno y estilizado.
Pantalla: Aunque cuenta con un panel IPS, en esta ocasión parece que no es del todo bueno, pues aspectos como los colores o el brillo nos han dejado un poco fríos.
