So, minor spoilers if you've seen none of season 7 of GoT.

Look at this link. Cersei walking around on her map has me wanting to recreate it in Minecraft, because that looks fantastic.

Unfortunately, Minecraft doesn't allow for the placement of item frames on the floor. I think it could be used to create some fantastic map rooms – even the Dragonstone war room would be possible, and that would look incredible imo.

Even beyond maps, I would like to put item frames on the floor for the sake of convenience. I'm in the process of reconfiguring my item storage room, and the most elegant way I can think of to show you what is in a chest at a glance is the item type that's in the chest displayed in a frame laid on the ground in front of it. This is what I'm talking about. If I could put that frame on the ground next to a second frame containing a diamond, I could do away with the sign altogether and either move emeralds to another box or just remember that emeralds are associated with gold and diamonds.

I don't think it would be difficult for a mod to implement this, or better yet for it to be included in a future update. From what I've read, there was little support for maps on the floor in years past, but I know this season of GoT has changed my mind, and I hope the modding community's as well.
