New benchmark has the Galaxy J2 (2016) coming with 2GB of RAM

Samsung is working on refreshing the Galaxy J2 from last year with a new, 2016 version. We’ve seen this upcoming model in the Geekbench database yesterday, and that has revealed a couple of its specs. Now though the Galaxy J2 (2016) has also been spotted at AnTuTu, another Android benchmark.

Lenovo Vibe S1 gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow update

Lenovo has been one of the slower companies when it comes to updating its products to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the Chinese smartphone maker isn’t stopping. Following the release of the update for the A7000, K3 Note, and Vibe P1 over the past few months, today Lenovo has started sending out the Marshmallow bits to the Vibe S1.

iPhone 7 will have 3.5mm headset jack after all, latest leak says

So far almost every rumor that’s talked about the upcoming iPhone 7 has mentioned that Apple’s next smartphone will get rid of the 3.5mm headset jack, instead relying on the Lightning port for audio transmission. This has been repeated so many times that by now it’s pretty much accepted as fact – but that may not have been wise, as it turns out.

We’ve been waiting for too long for HTC’s upcoming smartwatch to “turn the industry on its head”, as the company’s CEO once said. First it was tipped to arrive in February. That then turned into April, which came and went without an HTC smartwatch announcement.

Android 6.0.1 starts hitting Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0

Samsung has started rolling out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update to the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 in the UK. The update, which bumps the firmware version to T710XXU2CPD9, also brings along the Android security patch for the month of April.

What’s worth mentioning here is that units with model number SM-T710 (WiFi version from 2015) are currently receiving the update. As always, you can either wait for the update notification, or manually check for the update by heading to your device’s Settings menu.

Xiaomi Mi Max and Mi Band 2 leak before May 10 launch

Xiaomi is holding its Beijing event in a week, on May 10, where the company will announce the Mi Max smartphone and the Mi Band 2. Photos of the two have emerged showing the devices beforehand.

The Xiaomi Mi Max will feature a flat, metal frame and the traditional for the company capacitive buttons under the screen. The specs of the phone include a 6.4″ 1080p display, a Snapdragon 650 chipset with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
