The Netherlands will get Pink Gold Galaxy S7 and S7 edge via T-Mobile

Samsung unveiled new Pink Gold options for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge a few days ago. The two new flavors are available for purchase in South Korea, but Samsung promised other “select” markets to get them soon.

The first of those markets will be the Netherlands. T-Mobile will be offering both Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge in Pink Gold on June 23. You can pre-order them now, and you will receive a free 64GB microSD card.

There is no info if this color will be a T-Mobile exclusive for the Netherlands but it’s highly unlikely. The other carriers should be offering the Pink…

MediaTek Pump Express 3.0 battery charging tech goes 0 to 70% in 20 minutes

MediaTek showcased its latest battery charging tech dubbed Pump Express 3.0 at Computex 2016. The new fast charging method promises to juice up your phone’s battery from 0 to 70% in just 20 minutes. Mere 5 minutes of charging will give you an hour of talk time, too.

The company says its latest charging tech has higher charging speeds as well as efficiency resulting in lower phone temperatures during charging. The way it manages this is through bypassing the charging circuit inside the phone and routes the electrical current from the adapter directly to the battery.

While this does…

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL drops to €415 in Germany

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL has dropped to around €400 in Europe. Specifically, it’s currently available for €415 in Germany, where Amazon is selling the device at that price.

That’s a considerable price cut given that the phone’s launch price in Germany was €700, not to mention that it’s been only six months since the device launched there. Its smaller cousin – the Lumia 950 – is listed on Amazon for around €355. Officially, both devices are being sold for €629 and €499, respectively.

Ever since their launch, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL smartphones have received frequent price cuts in…

HTC smartwatch delayed yet again; Is it ever coming out?

“When HTC comes out with a smartwatch, we will turn the industry on its head.” That’s what CEO Cher Wang said in February this year – tall claims indeed. Whether or not the device will be a game changer is a different question, what HTC seems to be really struggling at the moment is to fix a launch date for the device.

At a time when technology changes every year, we’re hearing rumors of an HTC smartwatch since 2013. The recent ones suggested that the wearable – allegedly dubbed HTC One – will be launched in April this year. However, as we all know, that didn’t happen.

The usually…

Researcher: iPhone 7 will come with 32GB storage as standard

We’ve seen photos of iPhone 7 boxes snapped in secret and paid some attention to the storage. We’ve seen a 64GB box, but that seems too ambitious.

Still there’s hope Apple will ditch the 16GB minimum. Kevin Wang, the Director of Market Reasearch at IHS Technology has done “supply chain research,” which showed that 32GB storage and 2GB RAM will be the new base.

We’re already at 2GB RAM, the iPhone 6s was first, then the iPhone SE confirmed it. The storage is great news, though, 16GB isn’t nearly enough for a modern flagship (especially one with 4K video capture support).

What…

ARM unveils Mali-G71: new architecture with an eye on VR

Here’s a side of GPU to go with that new Cortex-A73 processor. The Mali-G71 makes the transition to a new architecture, Bifrost (the T880 it replaces and all the way to T6xx used Midgard, used as early as 2012 for the Nexus 10).

The G71 focuses on two things – Vulkan and VR. Vulkan is the new graphics API, which aims to provide high performance on both desktops and mobiles.

For VR, the new GPU supports the multiview API, essentially a fast, standardized way to render the scene twice – once for each eye. Since the difference in what each eye sees is small, there’s plenty of room for…

Asus chairman Jonney Shih started the company’s keynote at Computex 2016 with the unveil of the ZenBo household companion. The ZenBo is a rather cute, distinctly Wall-E-looking little robot, which can communicate with you as well as do a plethora of services at your whim.

The ZenBo can do most of the things that Amazon Echo does and can answer you most queries via voice commands. It can also give you recipe recoommendations, buying stuff online, logging into accounts and take photos.

In this rather lengthy video, Asus demonstrates how the Zenbo can become a part of a family’s…
