Last year OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 2 smartphone in a VR launch event for which the company had previously sent out cardboard VR headsets. Well, for the OnePlus 3 launch the company is now giving away 30,000 of its Loop VR headsets (shipping’s on you).

New leak reveals Sony F3311 is Xperia E5

Remember the two Sony phones – the F3216 and F3311 – that were spotted listed on GFXBench last month? While the former was recently officially unveiled as the Xperia XA Ultra, the latter is yet to be announced by Sony.

However, thanks to a new leak, we now have some information on what the F3311 will be officially called. The handset was recently spotted in an official Russian Customs report, where it’s mentioned as the “F3311/Xperia E5.”

Galaxy S7 edge the size of a building is Samsung’s latest ad in Moscow

If you thought the 5.5-inch Galaxy S7 edge was too large, multiply that 500 times and you’ll get the size of Samsung’s latest ad of the dual-edge smartphone. Installed on the facade of a building in the Sokol district of Moscow, the LED signage measures 80 meters tall and 40 meters wide.

As Samsung is keen to point out, the ad can be seen from up to 2.2km away. Located between two road arteries, the giant S7 edge gets to be seen by 800,00 people a day. We gather the spot wasn’t a coincidence then.

YU open sources OS, releases Marshmallow beta builds today

YU has announced that it will be open sourcing the OS on its smartphones and inviting developers to download and contribute to the new YU-OPEN-OS.

As part of the new Project Highway, YU will be “curating source codes from multiple drop points, such as Google’s AOSP repos, Chipset Vendors Repos, Various ROMs (where the community developers contribute), Internal YU customization and finally creating one manifest which will be able to support all YU based devices and other Android devices too.”

New teaser reveals Snapdragon-powered ZUK Z2, May 31 launch

Just days after ZUK CEO effectively revealed that the company’s upcoming Z2 smartphone will be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890 chipset, a new teaser has been spotted on Weibo, throwing up more questions than answers as it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon logo instead.

ASUS launches new ZenFone Max in India

ASUS has launched an updated version of the ZenFone Max in India.

One of the changes in the new model is the upgrade to an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chipset. The phone also comes in two variants with 2GB or 3GB RAM options, and has 32GB storage common across both with microSD support up to 64GB. Other features such as 5.5-inch 720p display, 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera are carried over from previous phone but the new model will come with Android 6.0.1 out of the box.
