ZUK Z2 goes through TENAA ahead of its May 31 unveiling, images and specs outed

Lenovo subsidiary ZUK unveiled the Z2 Pro last month, and the official announcement of the non-Pro Z2 is scheduled for May 31. ZUK has been outing a teaser here and there for the past few days, trying to build hype for the device.

And now the Z2 has been certified for sale in China by TENAA, the country’s FCC equivalent. As usual, this means we get to see what the phone looks like, but also the exact hardware it’s packing.

The Z2 will come with a 5-inch 1080p touchscreen with 2.5D curved glass on top, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset, 3 or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of non-expandable…

iPhone 7 cases fit the iPhone 6s inside, showing no major in design

In case it wasn’t abundantly clear already, new cases for the iPhone 7 show that the new phone will not bring a new design. These cases were photographed at an event in London by Pocket Lint. They are built by accessory maker Cygnett for the 7 (based on specs available to the company), but the cases themselves are demoed with an iPhone 6s inside (note the antenna lines).

The official unveiling of the iPhone 7 is still a long way off and these could possibly be decoys. However, leaked dimensions show the new phone will be the same size as its predecessor and Apple’s security in…

Google is working on Android for the Raspberry Pi 3

The Raspberry Pi computers have some Android support already, but the main focus is on Linux. This may change as Google seems to have opened an official Android code repository for the Pi 3.

What could this mean? The Nexus Player is gone and probably not coming (not even in Raspberry form), but a Chromecast alternative (at similar price) is within reach.

Education is a big focus for the Pi Foundation and Linux is the right tool for that job. For multimedia (another popular use for Pis), Android offers a more user-friendly UI and many multimedia apps, including Kodi, Netflix and Hulu…

Just days after a Fast Company report claimed that Samsung’s association with Google’s Android Wear platform is over, the South Korean tech giant has issued a formal statement refuting the claim.

“We disagree with Fast Company’s interpretation,” the company said. “Samsung has not made any announcement concerning Android Wear and we have not changed our commitment to any of our platforms.”

Gear Live

While the statement does clear the air (for the time being at-least) on the issue, any reports/rumors of Samsung’s break-up with the wearable platform cannot be just dismiss as hot air…

Twitter to stop counting user names, images and links in 140 characters

Ever since day one, Twitter always counted everything within the text box in its 140 character limit. This meant that if you were replying to someone their user names would eat up part of your 140 characters. Similarly, if you included a URL or uploaded a picture, the link will also take up part of the 140 characters.

This is going to change in the coming months. Twitter has announced four changes that should let you get the most out of the 140 characters.

First, usernames within a reply tweet won’t count towards the characters. This means even if you’re replying to one or multiple…
